I was gifted and incredible piece of McCormick field history this weekend. This numbered print (825/1500) was a promotional giveaway in 1989. It has an incredible photo of the field, showing a minimal outfield fence. In center field is Ty Cobb, and out in the left field are wooden stands.

The park going through major renovations this off-season and a new grand entrance is a part of that. As amazing as the new look is going to be, there's always going to be a soft spot in my heart for those historic arches. They were my favorite spot to get photos of the fireworks from.
