There are new cats on the block! We are Patounes Games, an indie gamedev studio. Pronounced Pa-Toons, a "patoune" is one of the many French words used for a cat's paw and toe beans! You could already guess that we like cats, and you would be right, as we make games about them! #Gamedev #indiedev

4/4 to conclude on the financial side: we spent the last 3 years developing our game without ANY funding. It was tough, and we had to slow the development several times with the lack of funds. If your project has a playable demo, I highly suggest a crowfunding, as we'll very likely do our own, too!

3/ The last part is what I consider the most important; We tried to start things on our own, without any help, and failed MISERABLY! So surround yourself with people who are willing to help, AND who know about game dev and its process. It will save you time and motivation!

2/ But we are lucky enough to have access to public funds, reserved for game development, either predev or full development until we publish our game. We also reached out to specialized organizations to help us deal with banks, other financial helps or all the administrative stuff!

1/ We are 3 (for now)! We met during our studies & graduated together during the COVID pandemic AKA tough period for job opportunities... We stuck together ever since ! Fundings, that's a tough subject, we are still trying to figure things out, as several banks denied us financial aids

I won't lie, it was not easy and thoughts of giving up crossed my mind several times during tough times, but the joy of finally be able to achieve it, after all this time 100% makes up for it !
