Not a cat person at all, but the workshop has a local farm/feral/wild cat that seems intent on being my friend. Spends its day sleeping on anything soft, occasionally brings in a mouse to devour. And has hidden a kitten in the workshop that doesn’t come near people.

To keep an eye on your dog doing dog things, obviously. (And then when they’ve gone, randomly checking it in the blind hope they’re back)

Add in the roads are the same size, but people insist on buying increasingly obese vehicles, being unaware of their size, making the roads “smaller” (less room between vehicles) and most SUV dullards become the danger on rural roads

Anyone who may have been watching GT Cup at the weekend may have seen this last lap incident on the late Sunday race. Driver walked away fine, the poor M4 not so much. We also lost the Ginetta G56 GT4 on Saturday, but that can be rebuilt, the mighty 🍊M2 drew all the attention, and just kept going.

They look awfully big to be in there without seeing entry/exit wounds on the piston or bore, might just be carbon deposits? I’d do a compression test, throw a set of plugs in and see what’s what

Doing a public transport. Holmes Chapel, known as the town Harry Styles grew up in, the station is like a mini shrine and there’s a gang of young girls gathering and talking about him non stop. Haven’t told them he sang at a mates wedding years ago, genuinely nice lad and could sing a bit.

Borrowed a van and might have gone too big 😂 In other news, if anyone needs a nice 240bhp 2.0 Ecoboost engine, my brother is getting rid of his dad wagon as the powershift leak has got worse and probably damaged the box. Can confirm engine is healthy though, would be nice in a kit car…

Not even looked at the socials today, been getting stuck into a BMW GT4 engine swap. Good lord it’s nice to do mechanical work that isn’t another stuffed DPF

Every logo design site I can see seems to be AI slop. Anybody know any sites I could use to actually design something, or know a young aspiring designer who’d like some (admittedly low) paid work? (Budget not big yet 😬)

Lil’ Panda did me proud, unexpected award winner, just for doing what I do (helping herd the lost, fix the broken and generally being my usual charming(ish) self). Funball 2026 was a blast, and I’ll be back next year for number 8. Northwards now to Germany.

All in all, over 1000 miles and close to 20 hours driving to end up 11 hours from home 😂 the trip isn’t over just yet. Also, 130 kph cruising in the dark with classic house music on loud does wonders for your mood. Goodnight all!

After a fuel stop and a bladder empty, arrive at Reims at 10.45 UK (11.45 France) where someone has kindly waited up with two, glorious cold pints. The Panda has not air con, the train had no air con, it’s been warm.

Swap the pedal, test it, seems ok, refuel and wash car and take the decision to get some rest at home. 3.40 pm leave mine and head back to the Chunnel. Arrive at bang on 7 pm and get straight onto a train, off the train at 8.00pm uk time (9 France) and aim the car for Reims…
