Let's be very clear who is responsible for this disgraceful hotel bill. The last Government created an asylum backlog and forced people to live in appalling conditions for years on end. It chose cruelty over taxpayers' money - then scapegoated sanctuary seekers for its failures.
Mock 'invoice' labelled "the cost of cruelty" which sets out a total cost of £15.3bn for families trapped in squalid hotel rooms, huge profits for private companies, refugees scapegoated and demonised, and an enormous asylum backlog.
