Ollie is home, which I am so grateful for because throughout the night we really weren't sure which way things might turn. We still don't really have answers but he is stable and resting so at least we have more time to figure things out right now

Please don't let Ollie join her this soon. I cannot take the thought. Ollie is in ER on oxygen again. His lungs are cloudy which can mean a lot of (bad) things. Less cloudy compared when he had pneumonia last, but it's not good. I have never seen him so sick. I need him, he simply cannot go yet.

Another appointment today with a cancer specialist. Doctor thinks Eva is a good candidate for Stereotactic Radiation Therapy, which could significantly extend her life over palliative care. Biopsy and CT scan first, but its at least a slightly more positive moment in this sequence of horrible news.

Unfortunately, the news was not good. The assessment is osteosarcoma of the ribs. We are devastated. That's a diagnosis that means palliative care is likely the only option. She's so special. It's crushing.

She was a parvo puppy and the shelter was going to euthanize her. I fell in love at first sight and nearly stole her when they didn't want to release her until she was spayed.

I'm not okay. I adopted her after deployment to Iraq and I think she was instrumental to helping me work through a lot. I love her to no end. It's criminal how short dogs live.

Five hours of surgery later, doctors were able to deal with the first and most pressing aneurysm. The second was deemed not immediately threatening and they are going to try again in three months.
