Ever heard of the vaquita? 🐬 It's the tiniest porpoise, living only in the northern Gulf of California. Sadly, illegal gillnets are pushing it to extinction. Protecting them means saving our oceans! 🌊 #Vaquita #SaveTheVaquita #Inktober2026 #MarineConservation

Did you know red pandas are closer to skunks than giant pandas? 🍎 Despite their bamboo diet, they love a fruit snack now and then. With a 40% population drop, conservation is crucial. Let's show these apple-solute cuties some love! ❤️ #Inktober #SaveTheRedPanda

Do you know the story of America's first circus elephant? "The Elephant's Song" by Lynn Tomlinson follows a dog and his new elephant friend, Old Bet, as she travels around America as a wondrous attraction... only to attract the wrong sort of attention in the end. It's a fantastic yet haunting story.

An elephant's trunk is their most distinctive feature, and this story by author Rudyard Kipling proposes one way elephants got them! A curious young elephant gets his nose caught by a crocodile, and the ensuing tug-of-war turn the elephant's nose into a trunk! What's your favorite elephant story?

Giant pandas are more than a beloved animal as they are also one of China’s most recognizable cultural symbols. 🐼🇨🇳 Through “panda diplomacy,” they have represented peace, friendship, and international cooperation while also helping support research and conservation efforts.

Kung Fu Panda is one of the most recognizable panda movies in pop culture. The story follows the main character Po. This film helped introduce giant pandas and elements of Chinese culture to audiences around the world. 🐼🥋 What other movies have made you curious about an animal or its culture?

Favorite Fact Monday: Malysa found it interesting that the red wolves are family animals.  Every year when pup are born (baby wolves), the older siblings in the wolf pack help their parents take care of them.  Source: championsforwildlife.org/learn/anim…

One of my favorite Red Wolf facts: They usually mate for life. Even better, older siblings often stay behind to help raise the next litter before starting families of their own. For a species with fewer than two dozen remaining in the wild, every family matters. Let's give them a Chance at Survival.

Did you know that scalloped hammerhead sharks are actually rather shy? These sharks don't pose much of a threat to humans, and will only attack if provoked. Overfishing by humans means that we are more dangerous to them than they are to us. #shark #nature #art
