I will reopen for comms in 2027, but currently don't know when. If you still wish to support me via ko-fi, that is greatly appreciated. Otherwise I'll still be sharing my art here and elsewhere when I can.

Some of these are harder than others depending on your personality/personal limits, and it's important to acknowledge one's unique challenges compounds how easy or not some of these are to execute, but these are values I try to live by, some days are just hard, and that's okay to acknowledge.

Some extras: -if it sucks hit the bricks, don’t torture yourself -anger hurts, I don’t recommend it, try not to be angry for an extended period of time. -you’re always more capable than your brain is making you out to be. -Never give into despair, ever, even if someone you respect is.

approach hyperbole with skepticism or avoidance -it’s ok to be wrong or to make mistakes as long as you learn from it -don’t take things personally, even if it seems like something is made to piss you off specifically -cure confusion with research from reputable sources or an understanding of nuance

If you are wondering how we are so chill, there are things we abide by constantly: -Never assume the worst -don’t engage in conspiratorial thinking -Things always get better, even if they seem bad -the brain is tricksy and will do its best to convince you something is worse than it actually is

I know from friends further along this path than me who face a lot of what you outlined. I'm so sorry art became so stressful for you, if this is what it takes for you to get your passion for art back, then you gotta do it.

Art of Wheeler Bertrand (COMMISSIONS CLOSED) @artofwheeler.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

I'm trying to grow my own art business and it's been slow, but I'm trying to see that as a good thing. I'm also doing my best to keep boundaries between my personal art and freelance stuff so I keep my passion for art alive.

Art of Wheeler Bertrand (COMMISSIONS CLOSED) @artofwheeler.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

It's tough to make these kinds of decisions. I've followed your art for years and I wish I could've commissioned you in the past, but I was always too short on cash, hope the folks who got their chance know how lucky they are.
