I’m drawing 76 Black people who freed themselves from enslavement in 1776. This is Gabriel. He escaped with Ben. I’ll post that drawing soon. The foliage in the background is from a recent photo from the bridge where he was last spotted before his escape. That bridge is still in existence today.

The next day I hear about what happened later, the wild experiences, strengthened bonds or odd opportunities all of which I would have loved to have been part of! I have to wiggle out of something I did not start (cautiously! trying not to upset any dangerous egos!) so I leave, while the men get to stay

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.
