Apparently there was a comment in the public realm that there are "no police officers in Millennium Park." The Mayor just showed us two pictures of cops hanging out in said park, courtesy of Police Chief Betts. Your tax dollars at work!

Finally, we have a notice of motion from Mayor Leal to permit local businesses to open on select holidays. Since new legislation in Ontario allows businesses to open on Family Day and Victoria Day, he is seeking for Peterborough to open businesses on more different holidays.

The Peterborough-Monaghan policing contract extension carries on the consent agenda (meaning without prior discussion). We're onto the Prudent Investor Standard implementation, which extends the investment possibilities for city funds under the supervision of a "prudent investor."

One last motion from Mayor Leal, to reduce the development charges posted by the city by 50% in light of a new Provincial program that will subsidize 30-50% of these charges for municipalities.
