If I'm remembering the segment correctly, the appraiser mentioned that Erte was very prolific toward the end of his life. There's a lot of Ertestuff floating around. Hop on LiveAuctioneers and search on Erte and you'll see dozens of things #antiquesroadshow

Hunh. FWIW deaths of artists don't inherently cause the market for that artist to spike. The older they are when they die, the more that their deaths are, for lack of a better phrase, priced in. Artists who die suddenly, die young, or both are way more likely to see prices spike #antiquesroadshow

I saw a bunch of these in the museum in Dallas in the ceramics section and they are very quirky handmade collectibles. They used to have liquor in them. That's how they were identified originally. According to the people in the museum in Dallas. #AntiquesRoadshow this is a real history collectible

It just makes no sense because if the toy is so well taken care of it should be priced according to the condition of the toy not if there are 200 of them left. #AntiquesRoadshow sometimes is very confusing on their pricing, especially updating it two decades later

So many of these older pieces of glass have small cracks and chips in them which really shouldn't change the value much unless it is major damage. That 100 y.o. lamp shade is gorgeous. #AntiquesRoadshow come on now
