Today, I decided to watch what happens closely and caught a connection between the "Continue with these tabs" widget loading and the unfreezing. As soon as the widget shows up, the URL bar and the UI unfreeze. As soon as I disabled the widget, the new tab freeze has immediately disappeared.

For the past several weeks, I've observed this annoying behavior in Google chrome: a new tab page would freeze and prevent me from typing for several seconds. At first I thought it was the number of tabs that I have open (a couple of dozen), but closing them did not fix the problem.

I almost missed this because the email went to spam. Microsoft is killing SwiftKey accounts and Gmail/Google sign-in, and is forcing us to move to Microsoft sign-in to continue backing up and syncing SwiftKey data. Backups are now going to live in OneDrive. 😐 You have until May 31 2026 to migrate.

Google bumped the $19.99 AI Pro plan from 2TB to 5TB today. It's a free upgrade. Must be still rolling out though as 5TB is reflected in some places but not others. It's very timely as I'm a couple of videos away from hitting 2TB.

The best part is it instantly converts into a tripod that is as tall as an average human, which means now I can take group photos anywhere without having to find someone to snap the photo. Converting it to tripod mode is my favorite part - just stomp it on the ground and voila. [2/3]

Today, Google revealed more details about the changes to sideloading coming to Android. For apps from verified developers, nothing changes. But for apps from unverified ones, you will now have a mandatory 24-hour waiting period before continuing. Supposedly, this will reduce coercion and scams.

A few interesting tidbits from Emad Dlala's interview about the Lucid Gravity's latest big update 3.4.1. Fob is basically fixed. Fob battery life is now 10x. This is huge, as I kept replacing fob batteries every 2-3 weeks. Car Play / Android Auto Q1-Q2. Phone as key later this year.
