Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 10/10/2026This box art also ages like a fine wine. It is only made better with the distressing and scuffs. Time is literally making this cooler 010
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I was just about to say the exact same thing. Maybe it'll be like Kong VS Godzilla and they team up against a mecha-data-center. 010

Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Hello! Here's a little bit about my approach for this year's Inktober Taking inspiration from the many books I have read to our daughter over the years, I have set on a quest to explore character design featuring animals My goal is to have a little village worth of characters when it is finished! 030
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Yeah man. Your little one is still very wee. You're making the right call 010
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Check out Hey Duggie if you haven't yet. It is one of the best kid's shows ever and has such a positive and hopeful vibe. 110
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Solid advice. Thanks! I am still getting use to them and still lean more toward the shorter lake style. I only get to kayak a bit on the St Lawrence river in the summer here in Ontario. Some choppy days when the wind picks up on the open parts and that can be fun 100
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026What an awesome looking adventure. I have yet to try salt water kayaking. Totally on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing! 110
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026One might even go so far as to say it was a bit of a... Gong Show 020
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Really great breakdown of not just the designs, but the thought process behind why some worked and some didn't (like how Cobb's work was perfectly suited for the human crafts but maybe not otherworldly enough for the derlict) 110
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I love discovering mushrooms on hikes. One even became reference for a painting I did last year. You can find some really fun ones out there! 000
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 30/09/2026This whole exchange caused me to spit coffee on my keyboard 100
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 26/09/2026How can a team with such a cool idea be so short sighted? Especially with a game featuring tanks in an industrial setting. Asset libraries are full of stuff like that, all made by humans. Your lasagne analogy is spot on. 030
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Getting some serious Spawn vibes from this and I totally don't mind. 110
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Agreed. I am also getting some serious Spawn vibes from this. Between Joker's design and Batman's new cape. 010

Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Ron Cobb was not only a masterful concept artist, but also an amazing editorial illustrator. A rare combination I have always appriciated 020
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026There has to be a spot of comedy in the fact my typo of "Rouge Trooper" was in a post about a movie featuring genetically modified super soldiers with BLUE skin 🤦♂️ Always proof your posts, friends! 260
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I'll do my best to spread the word and fill some seats when you do. But maybe I'll be more mindful of typos 😅 110
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026I had the pleasure of checking out Rouge Trooper on the last day of TIFF. What a fun ride! It was a perfect blend of gritty scifi war movie and witty comedy. A real love letter to the source material and VERY British. It was also really cool to meet @manmademoon.bsky.social (been a fan since Moon) 6437
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026It was a total blast of a movie! I am so happy I was able to catch it at TIFF and see it on the big screen. Thanks for bringing it to Toronto Hats off to you and the team! 120
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 19/09/2026LOVE seeing this breakdown of the visdev for the prequel. It also reminds me to get off my ass and play the original game. Can't wait to "Rambo" my way through both environments. 121

Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Totally! And lots of other little shops/restaurants to check out. Kensington Market (and Spadina in general) is a fun stretch with lots of fun food options to explore in a relatively compact area. For transit, the subways are more reliable than surface routes. Plus areas around TIFF are walkable. 020
Gavin McCarthy @artbygavin.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I caught a screening here in Toronto a couple weeks ago. So happy I did 000
