Great to read this report that keeps babies’ voices, and all the ways they may communicate with us, at the centre. Well done to all involved 🩷

Read more on a pilot of nature-based art therapy for 0-5s, a collaboration with @dcadundee.bsky.social @dundee.ac.uk & Douglas medical practice www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.... Families valued it, wee ones showed increasing social confidence, the natural space allowed choices & playfulness😊🌳

Perinatal mental illness can affect anyone during pregnancy and/or after birth. Knowing the signs is the first step to getting support for you or a loved one. Please share our post this #ParentMentalHealthDay to raise awareness. Together, we can make sure no parent is left struggling in silence.

We are all really pleased to have worked on this Dundonian Scots version of ‘Hello in there wee one’. We want all families to feel that the book connects with them, through the illustrations and the language, so we can encourage expectant parents to start communicating with their babies.

This year we have loved working with NHS Tayside, DCA & Dundee City Council to support pre-birth communication. With artists Louise Kirby & local families we've designed a book to encourage parents to imagine, talk to, and bond with their growing baby. It includes a story to read together.
A pregnant women sitting on a sofa, holding open a book, titled 'Hello in there wee one'.A page from the book showing an illustration of a person's bump with their hand on it and love hearts. The text reads 'In the beginning...You and your baby will have a relationship that develops over time as you get to know each other. You don't need to wait until your baby arrives to start. Communicating and thinking about your growing baby is a good way to start boding and getting to know them.'An illustration showing a river running through Dundee landmarks like the Law hill and the V&A. The text reads 'When you're here, wee one, let's go and explore. The hill, the park or down by the shore. See an old ship and a building that's new. A bear, a dragon and a penguin, too.'
