Hit publish on an episode we did today with our takes about Man City. Episode was titled "Manchester City vs the Premier League" ... Still isn't available on our platform. We have concerns?

We'll be doing a live pod recording sometime later today to catch up on all the news, rant a bit about Man City, and take questions from the audience. Will post time once we know it. Until then, stay hydrated.

🥱✋ 115 FC 😀👉 114 FC But in all seriousness, this is a huge announcement and we are very much looking forward to absolutely nothing happening while somehow Everton get banished to League Two.

Post game show is up on Spotify and other platforms. Analysis is... we sucked and Brighton were fantastic. Some silver linings to take away from the game though, the most important one being the players will have this eating at them for 3 weeks, and I expect them to come back with a point to prove.

Tough game so far. A win here would be a miracle and contender for match of the year. I need to see more from midfield in transition and our high press. We've gotten joy from the latter but the former... woof. Our midfield is getting put to shame right now. Come commiserate. Lines are open.

A last minute change on our end due to my new cohost not being awake yet. She had a hard day yesterday chewing on her bone, protecting the house from squirrels, and taking long naps on the couch. We'll go live 30 minutes before kickoff and stay with you straight through to the post game!

Arsenal have won nine Premier League games in a row, counting back into last season. That is our longest run since March 2004. A tenth on Saturday would be the longest since the Invincibles.

Four league games, four wins, eight goals scored and one conceded. Three clean sheets. It is only the fourth time in the Premier League era that Arsenal have won the first four. The other three were 2003, 2004 and 2022.

Bukayo Saka has three league goals in four games, more than anyone else at Arsenal. He has also scored on each of his last three league trips to Brighton. December 2022, April 2024 and March this year. He likes the Amex.

Mikel Arteta reached 250 Premier League games at Villa Park last month with a win rate of 60.2 per cent. Only Guardiola, Ferguson and Klopp have done better among managers who reached 250 at one club. Saturday is league game 253, and he has won the last nine.

Seven games, seven wins across all competitions after the cup win at Ipswich. Sixteen goals scored and three conceded. Arsenal have not lost a game of any kind since the Champions League final in May.

Declan Rice and Riccardo Calafiori have two assists each in the league, the most in the Arsenal squad. Rice has also created six chances. A midfielder and a full back doing the creating. Goals from everywhere.

Bruno Guimaraes came off the bench at half time at Sunderland and scored his first Arsenal goal 121 seconds after Raya's penalty save. He has played 63 league minutes for us. One goal already. Not a bad start.

Martin Ødegaard is Arsenal's highest rated player in the league this season at 7.65. He has created 12 chances in four games, three of them big chances, and scored twice. Nobody in the squad is close on chances created.

David Raya has three clean sheets in four league games and saved a penalty at Sunderland last weekend. He is the only keeper to save a Premier League penalty this season. Arsenal have not conceded a league goal since the second minute against Chelsea.

Arsenal have won the last three meetings with Brighton. 2-0 in the cup in October, 2-1 at the Emirates in December and 1-0 at the Amex in March. We are unbeaten in the last seven against them, five wins and two draws.

The referee is Darren England. Three league games this season, ten yellow cards, no reds, no penalties. One of those yellows went to a manager: Roberto De Zerbi, the former Brighton boss, at Spurs last Saturday. England was also the VAR who wrongly ruled out Luis Diaz's goal at Spurs in 2023.

Brighton have beaten the reigning champions at the Amex in each of the last two seasons. Manchester City 2-1 in November 2024, Liverpool 2-1 in March this year. Arsenal are unbeaten in the last seven meetings with Brighton. Something gives on Saturday.

Brighton have been the opponent for two Arsenal youth records. In January 2025 Ethan Nwaneri became the first Arsenal player to score two Premier League goals before turning 18, at the Amex. In October 2025 Max Dowman became our youngest ever starter against them, at 15 years and 302 days.

Declan Rice's first ever red card came against Brighton in August 2024, a second yellow for kicking the ball away. Hurzeler was booked before half time in the same game. After our win in March, Hurzeler accused Arsenal of making their own rules. Arteta's reply was two words: what a surprise.

Lewis Dunk was born in Brighton and has been at the club since the under-12s in 2003. His first ever Premier League goal came against Arsenal in March 2018, in a game Brighton won 2-1. He passed 500 Brighton appearances last December. He is 34 and scored a beauty at Coventry on Sunday.

Leandro Trossard is the only player to have scored in this fixture for both clubs. He scored for Brighton at the Emirates in April 2022 and for Arsenal at the Amex in April 2024. He left for Besiktas in July, and was spotted in the stands at the Emirates for the Chelsea game.

Ben White is the only player in either squad who has played for both clubs. Southampton released him at 16, Brighton's academy took him in, and he played 41 times for them. Arsenal paid 50 million for him in July 2021. At the time it was the most Brighton had ever received for a player.

Fabian Hurzeler has faced Mikel Arteta five times and never won. Two draws in his first two tries, then three straight Arsenal wins. He is the only Brighton head coach of the Premier League era yet to beat Arteta's Arsenal.

Arseradio @arseradio.com · 17/09/2026
Our last trip to the Amex, in March, was won by a ninth minute Saka shot that deflected off Baleba and through Verbruggen's legs. We had 40 per cent of the ball and 0.43 expected goals, our lowest of the season. Hurzeler said only one team tried to play football. Three points anyway.

The last time Brighton beat us was 14 May 2023 at the Emirates. Enciso, Undav and Estupinan scored in a 3-0 that left Arsenal four points behind City with two games to play. That was the day the title went. We have not lost to Brighton in seven games since.

Brighton's first ever away win at Arsenal came on 5 December 2019. Neal Maupay scored the winner and it left us nine games without a win, our worst run since 1977. Brighton won four of five visits to the Emirates between then and May 2023. We have won all three home meetings since.

Arsenal have never lost an FA Cup tie to Brighton. Five ties, five wins, in 1935, 1980, 1988, 2013 and 2015. The two at the Amex both finished 3-2 to us. Giroud got two in 2013, and in 2015 we were holders and went on to keep the cup.
010
Arseradio @arseradio.com · 16/09/2026
After that 1935 cup tie the two clubs did not meet again for 44 years. Then they played five times in five months in 1979 and 1980. Arsenal won four and drew one without conceding a goal. That was the season we played 70 matches, still the most any English club has managed.

Brighton did not score against Arsenal until their tenth attempt. The first nine games, from 1935 to January 1982, produced 18 goals for us and none for them. Andy Ritchie and Michael Robinson finally broke it in April 1982, and Brighton won that game 2-1.

Brighton's first ever match in the top flight was against Arsenal. It was 18 August 1979 at the Goldstone Ground and we won 4-0. Brady scored a penalty, Alan Sunderland got two and Frank Stapleton the other. Some welcome to the First Division.

Arseradio @arseradio.com · 16/09/2026
The first time Arsenal ever played Brighton was an FA Cup tie at the Goldstone Ground in January 1935. We won 2-0 with goals from Joe Hulme and Ted Drake in front of 22,343. Arsenal were champions that season. Brighton were in the Third Division South and usually drew about 6,000.
