Anime Review: One Piece (Romance Dawn-Arlong Arc; 44 episodes): This’ll have to be done by arc due to sheer size. At its most basic, the story is about pirates seeking a legendary treasure, with the military trying to stop them. However, it’s much deeper than the goofy animation would indicate.

Game recommendations: NFL Street 2 (2004) The sequel to NFL Street upgrades a lot of the clunkiness present in the original, and adds even more customization options. The music’s still banging as well. Fun ass game with tons of style. It’s quite a bit easier than the original, but still amazing.

Pitt came back from a 32-point deficit to win by 13 over SMU in women’s college hoops, which is already insane. Even more stunning to me, though, was SMU scoring 0 points in the 3rd quarter. Not even a free throw. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that at any level of basketball.

Manga Recommendation: Nisekoi (2011-2016) While it is somewhat generic in terms of it’s harem genre plot, it’s relatively funny, and has some of the most amusing shocked/disappointed/smug faces I’ve ever seen. The story features, Raku, son of a Yakuza leader, who has to fake a relationship. (1/?)

Forgotten NFL Gems: Lions @ Eagles (Week 3 2007) The Eagles, surprisingly 0-2 after a playoff season in 2006, faced off against the even more surprising 2-0 lions, who’d finished 3-13 the year prior. Yet, everything seemed to come back down to Earth in this 56-21 throttling by the Eagles. (1/?)

Album Recommendation: Ghetto D by Master P (1997) In my opinion Master P may be one of the most underrated rappers since the 90s. He’s arguably at his best on this album. Good flow, clever/amusing lyrics, and unique production. Really catchy tracks in general, even if not the deepest lyrics.

Game Recommendation: Tales of Symphonia (2003) Incredible action JRPG with dark themes and fascinating twists. It starts as a prophecy pilgrimage-type story but evolves into something greater. The characters are charming, yet develop nicely and have plenty of funny interactions.

Anime Recommendation: Dragonball Z (Namek Saga): Following the Saiyan Saga, the main cast travel to an alien planet, Namek, to find a new way to revive those who died at the hands of the Saiyans. In doing so, new revelations come about regarding character backstories, and creative fights ensue.

Forgotten NFL gems: Bengals @ Browns (Week 2 2007): High-scoring affairs were nothing new for the mid-2000s bengals. Carson Palmer was a pro-bowl QB with a deadly duo of WR’s, the enigmatic Chad Johnson (Ochocinco) and the underrated T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and a very good RB in Rudi Johnson. (1/?)

Game recommendation: NFL Street (2003) Makes football fun even for non-football fans. Jukes, stiff arms, gamebreakers. Customizable teams/clothing/attributes. Soundtrack is great. Players shit-talking each other in-game. They don’t make these types of games like this anymore.

Game Review: Grime (2021) Grime caught my eye cuz of the rock aesthetic, but kept me in with surprisingly deep gameplay and a thought-provoking, overarching narrative. In it, you play as some sort of black-hole headed humanoid in a world of living creatures mostly made of rock.

Album Review: Ravenhead by Orden Ogan (2015) The album is a power metal ballad, seemingly about a journey to salvation that actually leads to doom, which is heralded by a mystical woman. It’s part of a greater story featuring the band’s character, Alister Vale, though I don’t know much on that.

Game Review: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition (2020; original game released in 2010). The first in an epic trilogy, the game focuses in on a fantasy world featuring anongoing conflict between the citizens of Bionis, beings of flesh and blood, and Mechonis, (mostly) robotic beings.
