Presume this to be a young female Parthenolecanium corni. Does anyone here know their Scale Insects, and are able to advise? #Sternorrhyncha

In my excitement I posted too soon ... it turned out to be an Acari mite. Very disappointed. Will go and find more tidal lichen and continue the hunt.

Twenty four hours after collecting a sample of lichen from the tidal zone, and then steeping it in water, a Tardigrade is starting to emerge from cryptobiosis. You can make out two pairs of legs in the left half. #Tardigrades
An buff-ish oval animal that has two pairs of folded legs visible in the left half of the oval, and an undifferentiated leg mass at the right end.

Sounds like Lower Loxley is going to see some action. Kenton and Harrison duelling on the roof? Fallon and Lily fighting on the grand staircase? Rosie and Martha locked in the pantry eating their way out? Eddie running a book on all three outcomes? Jolene giving Lizzie hell? #TheArchers

Presumably a dog field business would require insurance of some sort? Wouldn't Robert and Lynda be expected to declare previous incidents on an insurance application? And would they get insurance after Monty? #TheArchers

I remember a case of a child called 'Absodee' (or that's how it was spoken). Couldn't work out the derivation until seeing the name written down. It was spelled Abcde. Those parents were somewhat self-centred hipsters. #TheArchers

@pseudoliam.bsky.social Does this look right for a Lamprochernes nodosus? Found in compost heap. Pointed body setae. Fourth tarsal trichobothrium sort of middle-ish, but unsure as it wouldn't stay still! #Pseudoscorpion

There is a lot of potential for disquiet from this death. Ultimately Carol had lived a full life and departed peacefully, but we know it won't be treated as simply as that. Alan's in for a tough time over the money, isn't he? (but some of us were more invested in the bats than in Carol) #TheArchers
