LLMs make convincing arguments irrespective of the quality of the argument making our era that of turbocharged bullshit. Thriving in it requires acting like scientists, starting with using healthy skepticism, asking ourself "**must** I believe this?" powerful-problem-solving.com/surviving-in...

I hear you, Chris. I lived in Houston before Switzerland. The biking here is considerably safer. And much more scenic, too. 😂

I live in Switzerland where we've had those cargo bikes for the better part of ten years. But, sure, the revolution … has arrived.

Bold statement, Mr. Prime Minister, but that's the spirit, and welcome to the club! The Euro thing is where the cool kids hang out, and we're delighted that Canada is in!

One way to visit the Canary Islands is to race Ironman Lanzarote. Arguably, there are easier ways to do it, but would they be as much fun? My race report is here 👇

Yes, Swiss scientist Fritz Zwicky coined the term “dark matter” which is impressive, but he also coined the term “spherical bastard” to describe people who are bastards no matter which way you look at them, and I think that should be celebrated more.

Well, then, fuck Siemens. Enough with the no-rules approach, "move fast and break things" approach. Did you notice, the whole US is broken.

Brilliant picture! It's a shame that these events don't really result in deep conversations. The contrast of cultures between the Deep South that you write about and, say, Lyon is phenomenal and multi dimensional, yet the interviewers don't really manage to address these differences …

It's skiing. In Switzerland. Watch for a world championship for skiing grannies coming up soon. And one for skiing dogs soon after. There can't be too much skiing championships in these parts …

For those of us distressed by the collapse of democracy in the U.S., here's an idea: Stop using genAI. Get your employer to stop it, too. Burst the AI bubble ➜ remove the growth in the US economy ➜ get Trump to back down

We think that good decision makers need an appropriate question mix, made of five types of questions—investigative, speculative, productive, interpretive, and subjective. You can find out what your mix is, and what to do about it, with our self assessment available at www.imd.org/lqm/. 3/3

Questions can help you make better decisions, which explains why many disciplines train practitioners to ask questions; physicians, lawyers, journalists, psychologists, and countless others get formal training. But not managers. 1/3

Asking better questions is critical to make better decisions, yet the guidance to help managers ask better questions is limited, usually organized around asking open-ended questions and follow-up ones. We agree, but surely there’s something more practical! 1/3

Not just that, but if you’re currently making good decisions, chances are there’s a promotion around the corner, and with that promotion come different and more complex decisions. How will you update your mix so that it can help you be successful with these new challenges? So what?
