Since I tweeted that I talked to some trans friends and they pointed out to me that what they found objectionable was the language of male or formerly male, while I thought the objection was that it was inherently transphobic to have concerns about trans athletes in girl’s sports. Democrats failed to codify Roe into law because we have only had a filibuster proof majority once in my lifetime and it relied on very conservative Democrats in red states like Ben Nelson in Florida.

The GOP implemented sweeping abortion bans in red states they control and SCOTUS seats they were appointed to by Republican Presidents. I don’t think there’s any evidence that red state Democrats opposing “partial birth abortions” had anything to do with that

No. I was asked to resign *from the board.* I remained a member of the club. I’m not a right centrist shithead and I do think there is a lot of evidence that moderating on social issues helps in swing districts. I think letting republicans win is what throws vulnerable people under the bus.

I had a bad lawyer, EBYD phrased the post so vaguely as to make it sound 10000% worse than what was actually alleged but also lawsuit proof. I got the DVRO I wanted which was the priority to keep me and my partner safe

I have written in many places, I’m not ashamed Noah is my friend. I have friends who are literal communists as well. I don’t think I was being smug or that Talarico’s statement throws anyone under the bus, and I think Senator Talarico would be vastly better on trans issues than a Senator Paxton

This person claimed I had dated a student as a debate coach, but the person she made this claim about did not even attend the school I coached much less was my student. I was 19 and she was 17 and a half and we remain close friends to this day.

I think someone running for Senate in Texas probably has to have more conservative positions on social issues like guns, immigration, and LGBT issues than I do. I know gender reassignment surgery is actually very rare for minors but it’s still better for Talarico to answer than duck the question
