Fat Tuesday on Friday? Venus retrogrades tomorrow, so tonight might be a last chance to indulge yourself. The 40 days of Lent mirror the 40 days of Venus retrograde, so it's time to step back from pleasures for a while. True, Venus is already deep in shadow, but at least you have a shot tonight. 😁

Volatile... Today comes with a warning label as Mercury, Mars, and Pluto form a tense t-square in the sky. If you have something that needs to be said or done, this could be your opportunity. But avoid impulsive decisions and try to avoid overdoing those things you are sure about. Drive carefully.

Activity... We may begin Wednesday a little bit slower than usual, with the waning Taurus Moon void until 1:26p Eastern Time. But by this evening things will pick up as Luna strides into Gemini and aspects Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune. Expect high energy as we round midweek and head for the weekend.

Gracious: The Libra Sun focuses on bringing harmony. However, the Sun opposite Neptune can get us to see too much (or little) in a person or situation (usually a person). The Sun forms a grand trine with Pluto and Uranus: great for creativity and play. Don't make plans, but let serendipity rule.

About to Fall... The Sun glides through the last part of Virgo (and Summer, here in the Northern Hemisphere), entering Libra at 8:05p Eastern Time. Libra is the sign of the Sun's "fall", because he begins to spend most of the day below the horizon, where he is majority of the day until March.

Work at it: This weekend, the waxing Capricorn Moon encourages us to accomplish something before heading out to play. The Moon connects with Saturn (on his day), ruler of Cap, then makes a mutual reception with Mars. Maybe work on smoothing over issues that emerged at Uranus' station last week.

Just Getting Started: We begin the week with the waxing Scorpio beginning a new lunar cycle. Luna met with Venus and squared Pluto earlier today, setting the tone for the early part of this week. The intense Scorpio Moon is a good time for focused work, and especially for any kind of research.

Perchance to Dream: Mercury opposes Neptune today, opening up fantasy and creativity. It's not, however, very realistic. Play, but don't take things seriously, especially in interactions with others. Misunderstandings are possible, also letting information 'slip out'. Think: Mini Mercury retrograde.

Sleep Issues? Despite the low energy of the New Moon, we may have restless nights this week, as Uranus stations to retrograde. "Sleep chatter", where you feel yourself awake even when you're not, is common. So is a need for doing your own thing when awake. Give others space, take some for yourself.

Around the House: This weekend, the waning Moon in Cancer suggests that we'll feel for spending time at home or in familiar environs. Yet Cancer is a cardinal sign, and sitting still isn't necessarily part of the picture. Cook a good meal, connect with friends and family, and maybe do a few chores.

Grazing... The Taurus Moon is void until 7:47a Eastern Time on Thursday. Midweek should have a slow, easy feel, great for taking care of routine chores, and maybe making a nice dinner.

Dazzled... I'm reading @karenchristino.bsky.social biography of Linda Goodman. If you think Sun Sign astrology is simplistic, you'll be amazed at the complexity of Goodman (if not her astrology). It's a great read for anyone interested in the early New Age, & the popularization of astrology.

Activity: We begin the week with the Moon in Fiery Aries, a time for putting out some effort. Although waning, she still has plenty of juice from the full moon. Get busy! But do it soon: Luna goes void at 3:47p EDT, after which we'll still have plenty of energy, but best devoted to routine tasks.

Catching Some Zzzs... It can be hard, with the full moon/lunar eclipse square to Uranus. All 3 factors can make for a restless night. When Uranus is prominent in the sky, we tend to have 'night chatter' even when we're asleep. Plus folks sleep about 20 minutes less on average at the full moon. Nap?

Outta Control... We may feel like we're moving towards the inevitable as we approach the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse, square to Uranus. That's especially true with the Moon's long void time as she sails through the end of Aquarius (Luna is void roughly 6p EDT Wed to 3p Thu). Time to watch more than act.

Maybe... The Sun has left his home sign of Leo for Virgo, beginning his annual tour of the ... other (I didn't say 'lesser') signs. Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the days are getting notably shorter and warm summer breezes are increasingly carrying a crisp vibe.

Early Halloween? A slightly goth vibe prevails as we get to the first quarter Scorpio Moon at midweek - with the Sun approaching the South Node. The cosmic weather suggests we may make hard decisions and implement them. Indeed, it is a time for action that leads to changes, big and small.

Yawn... The Moon is void from 3:24p EDT on the Thursday 13th until 10:20a on the 15th. Devote the end of the work week to routine tasks. It's not time to initiate. It's very good for napping, and later, sleep. It's wonderful for practicing a skill. Meditation gets a boost from the void vibe, too.

Go Fly One... Even as we feel the intensity of tomorrow's solar eclipse, Venus and Mercury are slipping into last month's basket pattern: this time forming a kite. It helps us to ground the celestial energies into our personal lives. Changes that need to be made should - should - be relatively easy.

Elegance... Venus has entered her second home, Libra, where she'll stay until September 10th. In the sign of the scales, Venus favors formal occasions and good manors. Use diplomacy. Connections to Uranus & Pluto benefit groups with a purpose: charity functions, political meetings, the PTA.

Headstrong... The waning gibbous Moon strides through Aries today, giving us a push to get things done. It's better to complete projects already underway, but the sign of the ram is good for initiating things too. Luna is void from 2:51p to 10:35p EDT, so take care of routine tasks later in the day.

Waiting Room... The Moon is industrious Capricorn as we move to tomorrow's Full Moon Sun/Jupiter meeting. It's an upbeat energy, but Luna is void until 9:46p EDT, so it's not a good time to initiate actions. Strategy: use today to prepare for things you intend to do over the next couple of days.

Putting Up With The Rules... As Saturn stations this weekend, we may find it necessary to play by the rules. Challenges to authority and the status quo may not be successful. Shoulder the burden, act responsibly. But don't worry, it's only a few days until the Full Moon with Sun conjunct Jupiter.

Not So Fast... The Sun is in Leo, Mercury is direct, and we're heading towards the Full Moon. Yet before we get to the fun stuff, the Sun has to oppose Pluto, and Saturn is stationing to retrograde. Plus Mercury is moving very slowly. This weekend there might be some hiccups in our plans for fun.

The Devil's in the Details... We're at the active first quarter moon, always a time for initiating new projects and plans. Alas, Mercury stations to go direct later this week, and mishaps are likely to multiply. Take care of routine tasks, don't push too hard. It may a case of "hurry up and wait".

Basket Case... Four planets are at 4 degrees this weekend: Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, & Pluto form (generally) harmonious aspects with each other. Technological innovation is highlighted, plus maybe some short term volatility. But this basket pattern suggests tides turning in social/political arenas.

Wake Up Call: Waxing out of the Cancer New Moon, things are moving a little slowly: but just for a bit. By the end of the day, Luna leaves Cancer for Leo, where she'll meet Jupiter and oppose Pluto. Don't push too hard at midweek - yet be aware that unexpected surprises might be coming (y)our way.

(Try to) Take It Easy... As we wane into the new moon, energy is likely to be at a low point this weekend. After a tumultuous, Neptune soaked week, that may not be a bad thing. Plus, we'll be very active just after Tuesday's Cancer New Moon, so it's a good idea to rest up.

Think About It... At midweek, the last quarter Moon meets with Saturn in Aries. We may be inspired to finish up projects & take care of business. Yet with Neptune stationing retrograde and Mercury already in reverse, it may be best to just go with the flow. A really poor day for practical decisions.

Hot Under the Collar... As Mars approaches his meeting with Uranus on the 4th, tempers are likely to be short and actions impulsive. Hopefully, meeting in Gemini will keep things on a verbal level, although watch out for road rage. Mercury retrograde square Eris, goddess of discord, doesn't help.

Regal: With Jupiter in Leo for the next year, it's time to live from the heart (really, it always is). Focus on what gives you joy. The vibe tends towards creativity and romance. In the collective, it's a good time for royalty, entertainment, and probably overdramatic shows of pomp and power.

(Un)Certain: Mercury stations to retrograde tomorrow, and mishaps tend to multiply near the stations, so take care with transportation, communication, and technology. The start of this retrograde is a little 'extra' thanks to the Full Moon energy and Jupiter at the last degree of Cancer.

Illusions, Delusions, and Confusion... As the Sun squares Neptune over the next few days, unrealistic vibes prevail. Avoid practical decisions, but it's a great time for meditation, creativity, and fantasy. The last week of June has Mercury retrograding, so this advice extends into July.

With The Beetles... Each year as the Sun moves into Cancer, my backyard hosts brown crablike beetles. After Sol moves into Leo, they become a rarity. I don't make too much out of it, it's just a Cancerian peculiarity here at 40N, 73W. Still, it's kind of cool. Image by kellepics, via Pixabay

Solstice: Today the Sun is ticking off his last few hours in Gemini, heading for Cancer and the solstice (summer, if you're up north, winter, if you're below the equator). At his peak, or nadir, Sol begins to move in the opposite direction. Every peak followed by a valley, and vice-versa.

Shocking! The Sun has entered sociable Gemini, and for many of us it's time to get out and connect with community again after the long winter hibernation. Yet as we approach the weekend, Sol meets with Uranus, and everyone feels like doing their own thing. Break out of the box and try something new.

A Good Idea... We start this lunar cycle fast, with Mercury and the Sun meeting Uranus this week. Brilliant ideas, direct communication, and a striking need for independence buzz through the collective. While we may still be shaking off the sleepy feel of the new moon, it's time to get moving.

Getting Stoned: As we approach the Taurus New Moon, the lunar cycle is winding down. Yet on Thursday Luna is in Aries & we may feel like we 'should' be active, but lack energy. Keep expectations in check. The new moon is conjunct Algol, Medusa's head. Are we seeding something we'd rather not see?

Wrapping Up... We're at the last quarter moon, always a time of assessing and making decisions. What's working, and what isn't? Where do you want to reinvest or divest? With Luna in Aquarius, the focus may be on Big Picture matters. But the vibe is also good for socializing, especially with friends.

Stop Right There! Pluto stations to retrograde, casting a Scorpionic feel over midweek. Do your own thing, and let others do theirs. A bit of alone time can really help the day. Moon is in Cap, so do some work - but don't let frustration build.
