And fixed my vr performance, was a specific driver (nvidia-dkms) to be able to set NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0. Milage may vary? For me, X11 or Wayland didn’t seem to make a difference but am using Proton Experimental. 110

I'm thinking a Arch-based: CachyOS w/ KDE, but haven't yet decided. Based on little research, i feel like it'll play nicer with Intel & NVIDIA hardware compared to debian- or fedora-based. 120
Ark~ @arktiica.bsky.social · 28/12/2025Turns out my laptop that decided to stop working a year ago was due to a m.2 failure (Kingston). Replaced the laptop with a brand new laptop. Fixed the old one with a new m.2 and it’s good as new. That laptop also now runs Fedora KDE Plasma, keeping windows on the newer laptop 010

I’ll probably dual boot a Debian or Arch-based on my laptop to try two different ones simultaneously to help decide which I stick with. 010
Ark~ @arktiica.bsky.social · 07/11/2025Pretty proud of how it turned out. Middle hole was being a pain to get solder off. Had just as much trouble resoldering even with flux. The switch bounce and occasional failure to register clicks is fixed! Replaced Razer omron with same omron regular switch. I’m really enjoying soldering—was fun. 010
