4/4 feel free to point out if i said something that's not true in the replies! i don't want to be spreading misinformation and looking to educate myself and i dont want to speak over someone who is actually blind, so if theres anything wrong with this post- let me know! youtu.be/AJ4Wd0gNdM0

How to write good alt text for images

YouTube video by Catalyst

3/4 i'm starting the change to be more accessible and to add more alt text and i encourage you too, especially if you're a blog that posts a lot of images or even your art. it doesn't hurt anyone to write a descriptive sentense, and if you need a guide i recommend this video (in the last reply)

2/4 i'm guilty of not adding it before and also when i did add it to my images it wasn't as good. this isn't something we're taught in school or anything, which is certainly a choice - i personally think that the topic of alt text should be mandatory to be taught in all IT classes for everyone.

1/4 #disabilitypride during this disability pride month i want to bring up the topic of alt text i'm not blind, i only have astigmatism and i'm a glasses wearer, but scrolling through a disability pride tag reminded me just how important alt text is to the blind/visually impaired users
