Here's the latest prototype!! Featuring the new hind legs, pawpads, longer tail and sleeker front paws! I also got photos of the zip this time to show just how well it blends in. I'm finally happy with this guy and going to start setting up for preorders, so more detailed info coming soon(ish)!

I'm gonna make a paper pattern to alter the back legs, make a calico pattern for the manu to reference for the back legs so theyre more shaped and with an ankle and curve. The straight back legs don't look as alive to me and that's the last thing I want to fix! So much happier with it though :D

These photos are poor because the lighting in my house is so yellow. The next prototype came in and I'm still not super happy with it, so done modifications myself. The front legs are swapped, paws added, hips thinned. The second and third photos show the thinned paw and hip compared to the old one.

The new prototype is in, I'm... Still not sold on it, there's some things that bug me about it so going to leave it a few days and come back to it. What I do love though is the new paws, the pads are sooo much more visible! The new nose is perfect too and the ears are a bit more rounded 👌

Thylacine update from the manufacturer! Changed the underside of the paws to minky so the pads stand out way more, the ears are a little more rounded and the back legs and tail are longer now. I'm waiting on a video of the face so I can get a better feel for it, but I'm soooo happy with those paws!!

So with that in mind if you're absolutely set on getting one of these guys let me know so I have an idea in mind for quantity so I can get a unit cost from the rep. The plan is to get them sent to me without stuffing, stuffing them myself and then posting out - or sent as a skin to save on postage.

Full disclosure this will be an extremely limited run, beyond preorders I won't be ordering many extra due to the high cost of plush manufacturing. At the moment I'm expecting them to be $250 AUD, potentially with a discount if sent without stuffing - the more I order the more the price drops.

✨Live size Thylacine✨ Here's the full preview! This guy is just over 100cm, has super soft fur so he's super cuddly, detailed pawpads and a side zipper for easy stuffing or unstuffing. This guy is the work in progress sample and I'm getting a few little things tweaked before the final is released.

Final two!! One of these is an a5 piece for a secret santa, the other was a little gift to a manager that's helped out a ton with a pretty grim job we've had over the years. On the left is a superb fairy Wren, and on the right is a far eastern curlew, which was probably the hardest one to paint!

Only a few to go after this! We've got the Royal spoonbill, dingo, whale shark and White-bellied sea eagle 💙 The water for the spoonbill was a challenge, I really love the tones I managed to get through the water in the end.

Next lot! Sacred kingfisher, bilby, thylacine and gang-gang cockatoo! I had a ton of fun with some of these, the subtle colour changes on some of them were pretty hard, but I think I'm really improving with my watercolours :D

Next up is some of my favourites! Numbat, orange-bellied parrot, Eastern grey kangaroo and rakali! The numbats gradients were a challenge, I'm super happy with how it came out! The OBP was fun as well, so glad I got to see some of these guys in the wild this year too 💙

Evicted a few critters from places they weren't supposed to be yesterday. Found a Cunningham's Skink in the work depot, got a nice little bite on my knuckle as thanks. A Peron's tree frog got into the house and was put in jail by @softsnack.bsky.social. Pics show their colour changing ability too!

Keep finding these weird rocks? on one of my sites in west Victoria, volcanic plains bioregion. They're super light, but very cool shapes. Ended up sending a pic to the PM and the archaeologist thinks they're slag from iron workings. #nature #geology

More plants added! New ones were propegated by one of the workers 💙 added is Kennidia prostrata, Pelargonium spp., Microseris lanceolata and Convolvulus angustissimus. All the plants in here a Victorian local species, so I'm hoping they take off and look amazing in here :D

I also spent ages cleaning the top panes of glass because they were filthy 😬 not sure if it'll need them because these species should be good with low water, but it's nice to see it all clean 🤣 will try to get better, less reflective pics at some point too!

Went to another natives nursery and got some more plants! Two Viola hederacea, one bossiaea prostrata and a brachyscome multifida. Might leave it at this other than maybe another Dichondra repens, see how it goes and how much everything spreads 👀

A few more views of it. The rock hides the drainage pipe in case anyone ever overwaters it. Once it's more established I want to get some isopods and springtails for it, really low maintenance critters we don't have to worry about 👌 but plants first 👀

We're done!! Tested some bits in it, settled on the placement of stuff and ZOOMED to a local nursery for some plants and they had nothing I wanted. Left with one Dichondra repens to get it started, hopefully can add more plants soon! Everything but the log was made or found, cross is for the fish 🤣

We back at it! Making a soil mix with assorted bits, crushed leaves etc. Recipe is: 2pt compost 2pt wood chip 2pt coir 1pt sand 1pt spagnum Handful of crushed leaves Slowly building the back layer higher and hoping I bought enough of each ingredient 🤣

Terrarium soil bits, compost, sand, orchid mulch, spagnum and coir.
