First sketch of 2026 is of the unnamed OC who's been on my mind for quite some time. He's an illusionist who uses a hand fan in battle. I'm hoping to do more sketches this year of him and of my characters from both my corrupted chosen one science fantasy and angel cannibalism fantasy horror, too!

I don't think anyone realizes how absolutely f*cked up my short story in the Monstrous Angels anthology is. I'm rereading it and I'm trying not to cry and gag. I recommend having a Bible (or any religious text of your choice), a garbage can, water, and a box of Kleenex nearby.

I'm amazed by how I've managed to write 4 novels since 2021 (including rewriting a 109k draft into a 96k draft) while dealing with worsening chronic pain. Some days I wonder how I manage to get anything done. It doesn't seem like the pain will improve, but I'll keep writing.

I wish society wasn't so looks/appearance obsessed. I just want to write my novels and give back to my community as a nurse. I don't care to be judged for features and "flaws" that I cannot help. I don't care about being perfect or my body being tea. I just want to live as I am.

Sharing a snippet in celebration of hitting 80k! I can't believe how far I've come with draft 4. I sense great things ahead.

The sniper mage lowered her rifle and fired. Torya erected a shield. A barrage of bullets followed. Pillars of smoke wafted into the tense air. I spun around at the faint sound of whimpering. A gasp escaped me. Several rebels laid motionless on the ground. Bullets riddled their bodies. Bile rose in my throat as pools of blood spread beneath them like crimson wings.
“We should retreat,” I whispered to Torya.
A light breeze swept by and the faint smell of sweat filled my nose. “Why retreat?” a deep voice inquired. Torya and I jumped backward in opposite directions. The staff wielding mage had appeared between us. He slammed his weapon against the ground. Easily six feet tall, he grinned with all teeth, a jagged scar beneath his full bottom lip. Curly golden brown hair brushed against his thick brows. I tightened my grip on my discs. He shot me a quick look and spun around, facing Torya. A moment later, she was flung into the air by a sweeping strike. Her body slammed into the building across the street. She lay like a broken marionette.
“Torya!” I leaned back when the stranger stalked toward me. “Get back.”
“Don’t get in the way of us restoring harmony to this cursed and broken world,” he replied.
