It's because they "own" their commerce and charge interest whereas we pass ours to private ownership who charge us to use it.. 010

There really is nothing wrong in borrowing to fund long term public infrastructure that WE own forever. Imagine how much extra people could earn and spend...solves most problems. 010

However I agree with the other parts of your reply. Austerity itself caused a weak GDP and reduced tax receipts. In 2026 millions of families incomes are no higher in real terms than 2010. 100

Deficit fell but the %age of debt to GDP rose significantly. So was Austerity worth it as it created lower tax receipts and reduced growth? 110
