For politicians and policymakers, it sets out recommendations to strengthen democratic resilience, including parliamentary ethical standards, discourse-monitoring and updated rules of procedure, while safeguarding freedom of expression.

Gender, in particular, acts as a gateway, connecting debates on family, education, migration and sovereignty into a single, portable storyline. For journalists, the report offers a framework for recognising these narratives in the language of political debate.

Parliament amplifies them. A formal, highly visible, democratically legitimate platform gives speakers authority, so once-marginal views start to feel acceptable. The shift is less about changing what people believe than about changing what they feel permitted to say.

Key findings: Narratives about #nation, #gender and #science circulate across borders, topics and party lines, travelling from the far right into mainstream conservative discourse, often with only the tone softened.
