Don't believe the hype Immigration is not a bottom up "legitimate" concern the political elite is pressured to respond to by "the people" It's an elite construction forced onto the people through agenda setting and mediation See why in the next skeet 👇🏻
When this accusation was put to Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, on Sky News this morning, he replied:

This isn’t about opinion polls. This is about doing the right thing. It’s about identifying a problem the country faces, which is [that] we’ve had far too many people coming in in recent years.

As @gbbranstetter.bsky.social points out here, the gender war is a forever war. And it’s not an accident that the people most fond of screaming “McCarthyism” at the mildest critique are also the ones who’ve been keeping the flame of the Lavender Scare purges alive open.substack.com/pub/autonomy...

- @chrjkb.bsky.social in @taz.de 1/2

From my research on anti-genderism in Russia and how it’s strategically used to justify authoritarian order I‘ll only say this on this gloomy years: Very soon it became too late to still say the things we earlier remained silent about because of preemptive obedience
