My dad just bought a little lake house on a secluded double lot in MI. Feels like the only house on the lake. He also bought a Silverado to assist with this fixer upper lake house. Not sure what aliens took over my dad but I'm liking his current YOLO vibe. The view:

The porcupine fighter doesn't look so vicious now curled up under my desk. The gash on his side is not healing up as fast as hoped and it's kinda gross. So far only the shirt helps. This poor baby.

Objective: still life, an object that is meaningful. Lily of the valley from my garden, porcelain straw glass from Karlovy Vary, Czech. Very symbolic to me. This is a 16” x 20”, my first large format painting, first true still life. EeK! I did it! Learned a ton!

Gunther is 5! Gotcha Day! Shelter had him as a “hyper, vocal boy” and he sure is that! He‘s still wild, exceptionally fast, but he’s just the sweetest pup. He’s truly my soul dog. Don’t tell him he’s getting his annual shots today. He’s going to be dramatic.

I went to Juneau. It was sunny! I even became besties with Charlie Kirk (Rep. Jamie Allard’s dog) and joined a winning trivia team. Very busy trip advocating for scholarship funding. Anyway- it was fun and I want to go back! Juneau is more civilized than Fairbanks.
