🛣️ 70 years ago #OTD, the Interstate system was born! On June 29, 1956, Congress passed the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, signed by President Eisenhower just a few days later. This act set in motion (literally 🚗💨) what would be the largest public works project in American history.

The Women's Army Corps was established 84 years ago this May! During World War II, American women were called to serve in noncombat roles to aid the war effort, and over 150,000 women served in the WAC, eventually paving the way for future generations of women in the military.
