Update: My eldest daughter decided she wanted to take on this resurrected starter and she's officially baked her own first loaf of sour dough! Turned out great and I'm rather proud.

Success! Ended up taking a bit more than a day for it to pick up speed, but this proves that dry storing my starter for a year is possible. In another 6-12 months we'll try again see how long it's viable for.

Once all the flakes had dissolved I added 30g flour and stirred it to thoroughly mix it together. Then I capped and labelled it along with adding a piece of masking tape to mark the starting height so I can monitor if it revives and begins to grow. Now we wait and see what happens next.

My youngest daughter has wanted to try Japanese Cloud (Souffle) pancakes for a while so today I tried my hand at making them. They're not the prettiest because I didn't have enough fat in my steel pan and they got stuck, but I can confirm they are really fucking delicious.
