The so-called “Stone-Cone Building” is perhaps one of the most puzzling examples of West Asian architecture. The construction technique is unparalleled. The walls are decorated with hundreds of thousands of coloured stone cones. 🔗 www.artefacts-berlin.de/portfolio-it...

ICYMI: On a two-day trip to London in 2022, I managed to visit four museums – the British Library, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the V&A. The exhibitions were great, of course, but the gift shops turned out to be the real highlight. 🏛️🛍️ 🔗 itsmoreofacomment.com/2022/11/18/m...

The Oxus Temple is a sanctuary of Ancient Bactria and helps the research on the relations between indigenous and Greek cultures. In 2011, we were commissioned by the Eurasia Department of the German Archaeological Institute to reconstruct the temple. 🔗 www.artefacts-berlin.de/portfolio-it...

We scientifically reconstructed the Bit Resh, Irigal, Bit Akitu, as well as the Eanna and Anu Ziggurat of the Seleucid Period in Uruk (modern-day #Iraq) During the reconstruction process, we considered variations, leading to two different models. 🔗 www.artefacts-berlin.de/portfolio-it...

Mari is one of the most famous sites in West Asia. A French archaeological investigation focuses on the city’s fortification walls. We developed reconstructions of the fortification walls, the city gate, and an adjoining residential building. 🔗 www.artefacts-berlin.de/portfolio-it...
