I did some kind of first aid qualification for babysitting as a youngster and it automatically gave you like a million dollars of liability cover incase you saved doneone and they sued you. Not sure if that's still a thing. It was in the 90s.

I currently suffer from not enough books. I had a lovely collection in the uk but had to rehome them when I moved to Canada (too expensive for shipping). I'm working on finding them all again in thrift shops.

I grew up in a suburb and our door was locked when we weren't home and if we remembered when we went to bed. I'm sure that's still totally normal in many places. Hell I know people who do it in downtown Halifax.
