The crazy thing is my parents never took me to see the movie. Instead, I had the movie sticker book that came out at the same time and I bought packs of stickers to fill it out. When I saw the image of Optimus dying (being sincere here), I didn't sleep well for 10 months.

During the Gulf war I worked for CACI where we scanned materials. We could not tamper with those items. We had Minolta book scanners with an overhead camera and two pedals. The user would turn the page, hit the pedal and it took a picture. THERE IS NO NEED TO DESTROY RARE BOOKS.
