Dickhead o' clock activated. Been up way too long, ready to hit the club for another grind, but the BOO has been amazing already after the first day.

BOO kicks off this evening. We have cool raffle prizes, you don't need to be a curler to love them and help out our competitive juniors with their expenses. Also have the Endgame Icon broom, the second one they sent as the original is still missing along with the 2 demo brooms that were included.

The saga of the missing broom. Well the guy at Endgame has sent me a new one and it's arriving tomorrow, at my house. It is a shame as the original mailing included a couple demo brooms for people to try out, ironically one being their folding travel broom.

Saltbox Cidershop from Haverhill, MA. Super nice folks, finally trying the Mala Honey Sichuan dry cider that they've wanted me to try. 6.5% and a nice mix of tart dry and slightly spicy finish from the peppercorns. This is a nice cider!

SpledAde Electric Green, 4.5% and very pleasant. Just what is needed before the gang heads to the Wayland select board meeting for the outdoor liquor business this evening.

Curling, it's a stupid game. We stole one, then stole 4. Gave up 2 and a steel of 3, then a steel of 4. We scored 4 in the 6th end to tie. Almost had a chance to chip a rock a couple inches to get 5 though. A lot of work to buy your own drinks lol

It's been a long day. Visited our eldest at college for the first visit and homecoming parents day. Time for an easy drink, and finish off sometime a friend left the last time they were over for a fire pit. Corona Sunbrew, heavy on the orange, finishes with the lime. Easy at 4.5% and it'll do.

Not the greatest, but it's still solid. Perfect when you've a little time to kill and it's still nice out. It has been a day. Car picked up, rental returned, old car didn't get picked up and still in the driveway.

Since the car accident, someone drop off a flyer saying they buy junked cars for cash. The car is supposed to get picked up by the insurance salvage folks today. Also, ambulance chaser lawyers or someone on their behalf have been calling saying they should represent me to get compensation.

It's a pilsner kind of evening. Nice and easy, with von Trapp, 5.4% classic out of Stowe VT.

Subbed last night at vice, 1st time in a while throw something other than guard/draw. Hits every throw till 5th end, so a draw to the 4 ended up a nice guard :/ Broomstacking was fun though, and I hit the Pride & Joy from Pivotal Brewing, 5% wheat out of Bristol, RI. Nice, light, super refreshing.

Sore but okay after the car accident The funny thing about all this though, just went to return a call and noticed when I called 911 yesterday, I actually called 999. I've been here over 22 years now, but I guess in the moment, the instinct doesn't change. The call did get diverted to 911 though.

It's been a day. Got t-boned by someone running a red light earlier. I'm okay, the car is not. Having a nice beer to cheer me up. Pro Pig Little Fluffy Clouds 5.9% pale ale out of Waterbury, VT. I'm finally get kegs for the curling club bar too.

Helped instruct at the first curling rental of the season last night. Went well, folks had fun, good to be back in the saddle. We also now have these cool coins for the coin toss for hammer for games. They came out really nicely.

Broomstacked with the Stellwagen Whale Watcher, a solid, slightly hazy 4.5% session IPA out of Marshfield on the Cape. Very tasty and easy drinking.

Being gym fit is not quite the same as being curling fit, as the sweeping still got me, but the hip flexors aren't entirely awful this morning which is pleasant for a season start. Didn't plan on closing the club last night but it was good to catch up with friends and chat with some new members.

The chap at the curling club who does our engraving stuff did a test on creating a coin with the 10th anniversary BOO logo, club logo on the other side. Would anyone be interested in something like this?

Tucking into one of the samples I was given off the Saltbox Dry Apple Honey Cider. It's a solid 6.5% and a very crisp dry cider. Refreshing and I like it, but I think I prefer their regular dry cider that I got for the club. Interested in trying a couple other samples though.

A few updates need to be made to a couple teams because of a bug with how 5th are entered, but the clubs new events portal on the website is looking pretty good. Draw schedule can be displayed a number of ways, with team or skip names, and can highlight just your teams draws too. #BOO #Curling

Not too many pluses to being the beer buyer at the curling club, but occasionally reps drop off some samples of Spikedade. This was definitely one I was intrigued to try but not enough to want to buy. It's surprisingly quite pleasant!

Yesterday, after clean up day at the club, had a bit of spare time to throw a few rocks on a spare sheet while the new curlers were getting a learn to curl session. There is nothing better than the sound a rock makes as it glides over pebbled ice :)

Curling club cleanup day. Troegs rep dropped off the smoker for a BOO raffle fundraiser raffle prize. Fire pit beer garden has the barrier set up. First beer of the curling season, Lamplighter Birds of a Feather 6.8% IPA, and it's lovely and crushable even at that abv.

Curling bar fridge is almost ready. A couple beers missing from deliveries, but we'll get there. Tap lines weren't cleaned in time to get draft beers ready for the new curler clinic and the new member orientation. Not ideal, but it's getting there.

Clean up day at the curling club... Getting the bar setup. Some cool beers that was reserved for after the BOO got delivered early, which isn't ideal, asking with a case of beer that I didn't order so that'll be a chore to with the return though.

Continuing the run of von Trapp, this time checking out the Kolsch, at 5% it's also very crushable and refreshing. I think I prefer the Helles though. Just the Pilsner left.

Last evening was the Helles lager from von Trapp, and it was really rather lovely. Their Austrian lager is my favorite of theirs, but really glad to try this one. 4.9% makes it very seasonable too.

Fuck, fuckity fuck, fuck, fuck. UPS fucked it slightly then. End Game sent a curling broom to the club as a raffle prize for the BOO. It was delivered to some random house in town and UPS says here's the delivery pic of proof of delivery. So not very helpful then.

Folks at the curling club worked on creating new banners with the new club logo at last, as well as fill in the gaps of missing banners. Nice to celebrate member achievements for winning national events and representing their countries at world events.

von Trapp Vienna, their malty Austrian style lager, at 5.2% is possibly one of their underrated beers but one of my favourites that they do. Also a lovely spot for a brewery visit in Stowe, VT.

First Oktoberfest of the season with von Trapp Brewing & their Oktoberfest out of Stowe, VT and a solid 5.6%. Only available in 12oz cans, but it's looking like it's going to be my back up for the bar as a couple beers didn't get delivered to the curling club. Am enjoying these samples though.

Watching Team Dunnam v McDonald in the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard in the play offs. Long road to win it, but the winner of the event gets in on a December grand slam event. Also, kind of fun seeing a member of the club curling, and not as his usual skip (Alex). www.youtube.com/live/_9Sc2tR...
