We're redesigning the notifications tab! 🔔 It's one of the most visited surfaces on the app, and a lot of you have told us it could be better. Here's a look at what we're exploring. 🧵

"All" tab that shows all your notifications in chronological order.

"Follows" tab that shows you a list of people who follow you, so you never miss a follow-back.

"Conversations" tab that allows you to view mentions, replies, and quotes all in one place.

"Activity" tab that shows all the posts from accounts you've subscribed to.

A giant woman dressed in white floating in the air. She has four white wings and two long black braids.
On her head there is a kokoshnik-like crown.

A huge woman with her hair made of roses
A small woman dressed in red is standing on her hand and holding a tiny flower

A giant man with white pearlescent scales on his shoulders and tail covers a small woman in a red dress with his hand
The man has a huge bleeding bite on his shoulder

Apologies for any typos, grammar duckeries, syntax issues, etc. I'm just so frustrated I refuse to reread my own crap. It's just gonna make me more stressed and my next hospital appointment best be hitchless #frustrated #personalfeelings #sotiredofbigcorpbiscrap

So, here's to YouTube bathing all its creators that aren't the size and fame of a certain MisterBlank in a stinking spray of golden liquid!

This is the reason why competitors are important & should always be present for all businesses! Of course, rules and regulations don't apply to everyone equally in this world. If you're small, don't have enough resources, you're free lunch. If you're the opposite.. let's just say, you own your field

I were a premium member? I'd unsub ASAP. Y should my income go to funding this biscrap when I could simply use it to sustain myself or actual creators via other platforms (like kofi or Patreon)? YT themselves admitted to paying in cents. My $1 feels like more than what YT admits to giving in alms

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Is YT saying they're simply going to take the whole pie and not even leave those measly crumbs to the people that make their platform anymore? The greed is truly limitless!

100

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

Since the min payout threshold is 100 USD anyways, is YT saying this money means nothing, whether in the US itself or abroad where the rates & cost of living differ? YT play ads on vids that aren't monetised. YT also mostly pay cents to their creators per 1000 views (& admitted so aloud). Now...

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

You're doing this for the sake of creators?? Because some get only a few cents per vid?? Is this a joke that went over my head? Am I too dumb to understand the generosity of YouTube? Or is their AI biscrap costing so much they decided to screw over creators so they can recoup some of their losses?

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

The video attached states that YouTube is going to raise the price for advertising on their platform. If that's true, does this mean YT is de-$ the people that made their platform what it is today, that generates YT so much money from their own hard work, while they (YT) rake in all the money???

100

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

YT dare claim it's to fight against slop? If that were really the case, the new rules would only apply to AI prompters, not real human content creators with content created by themselves and not GenAI! How are artists, animators especially, going to meet those view count & posting requirements??

100

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

1. Randomly de-💲creators that aren't generating AI slops 2. Raising the monetisation criteria + expecting the few that actually qualify to be able to meet them for all eternity or they're de-💲 3. Separating shorts & full vid revenues so creators lose 1 if they fail to meet those absurd expectations

Arako Draws @arakovara.bsky.social · 18/08/2026

⚠️ This thread is a #rant Please do note that although I do post on yt too, my vids won't be monetised even if I wanted to (my country isn't eligible for YT Monetisation). My only bias regarding this ish is that of being an artist/creator myself. So, without further ado: WHAT THE DUCK, YOUTUBE??

1st time drawing on #ibispaintx. It feels more versatile than sketchbook, tho I prefer the latter's pencil more. Kinda wish the base pencil in ibis came unlocked + more textured. Will keep playing around with the brushes and see #artsky #speedspaint #art #beginnerartist #stylisedportrait
