For the people on BS who need to hear it (but probably won't listen)... Please shut your pie-hole about people who "don't speak English". You mock them when they try. But guess what. Most of them understand more than you think. Yeah. They have a pretty good idea exactly what a dick you are.

She asked for blue and was disappointed with the color she got, she had someone else do the "paws", the license plate says "Woofie", she has two spaniels and purple hair, and she's going to be 90 in a week. Lady, you ROCK.

Gotta ask. Has anyone heard one of the 🍊🤡's culties bragging about how cheap eggs are now? They're the ONLY thing I've seen go down in price over the last year, but I wouldn't even mention bird flu to those idiots. Can't help but wonder if 🍊🤡 manipulated prices so his morons would praise him.

Spotted out and about today... oh, I so needed the giggle. I don't know what company owns this truck... but guessing it has something to do with the manufacture or selling of wine. "Yes Way Rosé"... VERY clever!
Street view from the opposite direction, with a focus on a truck with text over the cab which reads "Yes Way Rosé". Very clever!!

WTF is going on with Bluesky and muting!? On some of the larger accounts (i.e., Takei, Bowers), I see "muted replies" at the very bottom. I click on these and find reasonable and rational comments by folks, without so much as a "damn" in them. WHY are they being muted!?

Those of us "slaves" to our pets do it 'cause we WANT to. We treat them the way we wish everyone would treat us, and their love is unconditional. When I see my Kat all contented, my heart wants to explode with happiness for her, but also with longing for the same for myself.

OK folks. Heads up. Have suspected for a long time that inactive accounts are being hacked and "repurposed". A rando reposted a totally irrelevant comment of mine, checked Bluesky. Account created 1.5 years ago... practically no activity... then a name change 12 minutes ago. Commence begging.
Screen shot of a Bluesky account started 1.5 years ago, with a name change RIGHT before they started posting pictures of starving kids asking for money. I am sympathetic to Gaza, but these accounts are all scammers. Preying on our sympathy. Sickening.

Atill out here, just feelin' burnt out and layin' low. Stopped at post office, saw these city workers repainting a pride/LGBTQ crosswalk. Stopped to admire & praise. Heard about the driveby abuse they get. FFS. Even if one does not agree, these guys are doing their job! And doing it damned well.

OMG. This freakin' diva cat of mine. I found her a felted cat cave at the thrift MONTHS back. She went in it ONCE. A couple days back I gave up on her ever using it and moved it from the bedroom to the sunporch. And today she's curled up in it, contented as a clam. Why is it attractive now!?
A black and orange diva wench of a tortie cat, curled up inside a blue and gray round felted cat cave. She is looking over her shoulder at me, puzzled by my incredulity that after months and months of ignoring this thing, she suddenly finds it attractive. I was about to give it away!

Should I tell her he once told me he'd move out if I ever got a cat? That he used to have nightmares about them? That I had to beg for two years before I could go choose her and bring her home? Ah well. If I did, she'd probably just smirk knowingly. He is now smitten with ze kitten.

The continuing Saga of Snow: Of course, town has not removed the giant mountain of snow in the roadway. But Mother Nature is adding a lovely skimcoat of white, the piles were starting to look a bit dingy! Levels have gone down significantly w/ warmer temps, neighbor's truck is visible again!
View out our front window of two roads meeting at an acute right angle. In the middle is a giant pile of snow in the road, with a telephone pole in the middle like a giant birthday candle. The curb is only about 2-3" away from the pole, but the snow pile extends into the road a good 10-15'. We have a driveway on each road forming this right angle, and our neighbors have one parallel to our north-south drive. The town plows cannot make the right angle during snowstorms, so we end up clearing WAY more snow than we should have to, just to get our cars out... and our east-west driveway usually gets at least partially blocked with what the plows try to shove off to the side. Calls to the town go unanswered and messages are apparently ignored.

Kat, practicing her "Twister" moves. Or having a senior moment... who knows! We just glance over and find her sitting there like this, with a "what was I just doing?" look on her fuzzy little face. Lookit those floofy feets! Durp!
A big, fat floofy tortie cat sitting in the doorway of a carpeted room. She is sitting twisted sideways on her fuzzy butt, frozen mid-bath. One hind foot is still in the air, the other is splayed out to the right. One forepaw forward, one bracing her behind. She appears to have had a profound thought right in the middle of gnawing at herself, and is either still pondering the meaning of life or wondering what she was in the middle of doing before the thought hit.

The aftermath of Winter Storm Hernando... Look at the middle of the photo... see that right angle in the pavement? Our property/driveways are to the RIGHT. To the left is TOWN PROPERTY, i.e., the street. That gigantic mountain of snow is IN. THE. ROAD. Look at all we had to clear to get out.
View from our front window, showing aftermath of Winter Storm Hernando in New England. Our property is in a corner, with very limited street frontage... only about 30' total, forming a right angle, with driveways both north/south and east/west. City plows cannot make this angle and they do not make any extra effort to shove the extra snow which comes out as they make a curve instead. There is a huge mountain of snow, literally in the street, congesting what should be two lanes of traffic down to only one. From the north going south, there is a stop sign at the end, which many people ignore. From west going east, vehicles go around the corner heading north on the OTHER side of the road. It is pretty much a miracle we have not seen an accident yet. There is a telephone pole in the middle of the photo, indicating the vicinity of the curb on this angle. It is about 3' tops from the edge of the road, yet this bank of snow is pretty much obstructing that whole side of the snow, and is higher than our heads. We had to clear a VERY large portion of the TOWN STREET to get our cars out of our driveways. There is another bank of snow visible on the left, where you would ordinarily be able to see our neighbor's drive, parallel to our north-south drive. The nose of their truck is literally covered with snow (not in use ATM). Oh yeah... our east-west drive has a hoop style canvas "carport" and there is a car squeezed in next to that, too, but nearly invisible under yet more snow. AND YES, IT IS CURRENTLY SNOWING AGAIN.

Walkin' in a winter wonderland... hahhaa. We just came in from Round II, re-clearing the ridge of plow vomit blocking all three of our driveways. Our neighbors rent, and all they have are shovels.
View from the inside end of our north-south driveway. The arch on the right hand side is our canvas "hoop-house" car port in our east-west driveway. We still can't back the car in there straight out, but hopefully can maneuver it out via the NS drive. We have piles of snow higher than our heads on both sides of our driveway. The streetlights in the middle show there really is a road out there somewhere. View from the street, showing the results of hours of digging and snowblowing with our neighbors to make a shared access to all three of our driveways crowded into a right angle formed by two roads. Hopefully the town will not clog it up again.

Friggin' town. I get they can't make our corner, but they basically shoved a buttload of snow in front of our driveway. Snow drifted and piled on; now we have a ridge higher than our heads behind our car. Hard packed slushy road snow in it. They need to come & FIX this. Not the first time either.
Road view from our property looking north, we are in a corner where two roads meet and form a sharp right angle. Town cannot make the curve with a plow and there is now a ridge of snow higher than our heads blocking our driveway, out of the frame to the right. Ridge of snow in front of our driveway. Standing on the road, same level as our car, and the snow is forming a ridge from higher than my head on the left, sloping down towards our other driveway. We have two drives at right angles, one on each of the roads forming a right angle in front of our house. Hubs out in our north/south driveway with the snowblower, trying to clear enough out so that the neighbors we've let share our drive can get in with their truck. Our east/west driveway is not even accessible due to all the snow in front of it, thanks to the town plows. The pile of snow to the right around the telephone pole is higher than hubs' head. Our car, which we won't be able to get out of our east/west driveway because there's a ridge of snow blocking the way, higher than our heads. We might be able to back it out into the north/south driveway and get it out that way.

OMG. Our neighbor is out there with a shovel while the winds are still raging at 25-30mph. The snow looks to be up to his crotch!! He's 55, and of course, my 60yo hubs feels need to go out there & "help". They have been using the other half of our driveway... but it was unoccupied last night.

OK. Endeavor here. Window bird feeder... see access hole? Very carefully lowered phone into that to get the pic of what's going on outside! Third pic is what it looked like out there a few years back when we had a garden. So you can see that hoop thingie is really at a higher level...
Window bird feeder on our heated sunporch. It fits flush in the window, and the feeder portion is a half dome shape which is actually inside the house. There is an access hatch at the top. View from the opening inside the bird feeder, showing snow raging outside, and the drifts piling up... obscuring walls and halfway up fences. A similar view of that area of the yard, from years back when we were working on a garden. There is a cement brick wall to the left, where our driveway and hooped carport are about 1.5' above garden lvel. There is also a 1.5" little "wall" in the foreground, separating the garden from the side yard lawn. All now utterly invisible under drifted snow.

All of our windows on all sides of the house 1.5 stories up. Window to right is at a right angle to the bedroom wall, ordinarily you see the bedroom window. Snow totally stuck to all outside storms. Like being in a blanket fort & only getting glimpses through a hole or fuzzily through a worn spot.
Heated sunporch windows. Like every window on all sides of our house ATM, 1.5 stories up, covered with snow so we can't even see outside. This wall forms a right angle to the bedroom wall, and you should be able to see the bedroom window, but not today.

Bonus Catpost. Behind our carport/igloo thing, in the lot of the 4-family to the North, is a small camper. Actually OCCUPIED full time. And he has a cat. The cat is an outdoor cat and obviously he has no fear. Spot the Cat.
A view of the four-family house to our north. It is partially obscured by our hoop style carport. There is a stair going up to a second floor door on the side abutting our property. There appears to be a small entryway with a window at the top of the stairs, and a bit of roof under it, slanting downwards. Pigeons probably like to hang out there, which is very likely why there is a CAT up there in this pic! He must have climbed the stairs and snuck out through the railing to get there. Silleh Kitteh!

Catmuffin. Kat, doing her best Cheshire Cat imitation on a footstool/toadstool. She is round. Very, floofily, round.
My floofy tortie cat lurking atop a three-legged footstool, pretending it's a toadstool, and doing her best Cheshire Cat imitation. The footstool is nice and plushy and covered with a muted reddish cloth. Kat is in a semi-loaf position with a paw sticking out. The black and orange upward-pointing arrow on her head is rather prominent in this pic!Kat on the footstool, aerial view of Her Loafiness. She is taking up pretty much the whole thing. And it is not a "small" footstool. Some of it is floof, some of it is chonk. She is not amused.

Nearly four weeks since our last big snowstorm, and this is what's still left. Of course the town can't be bothered clearing that peninsula off the street. Due for another storm tonight, we have a blizzard warning with 1-2' expected, and 30mph winds with gusts up to 60-70mph possible. Yay.
View of our street showing leftover snow from nearly four weeks ago, still piled IN THE ROAD. Town can't be bothered clearing it, I guess. We are in a corner of two roads which meet at a right angle, and have two driveways, one on each street. Our car occupies half of one drive, and a neighbor has been "borrowing" the other side to keep their car off the street so plows can deal with snow. The other driveway has our hoop style canvas "igloo" carport, and neighbor have yet another car squeezed in on the side of that. We get help with shoveling in return for their using our space. Blizzard in the forecast for tonight, to add a foot or more to what's still out there.

Uh oh. It has begun. We have Portuguese neighbors. We have been letting them use our spare driveway space while the roads are full of snow. Today, hubs came home from church and was waylaid and given a big foil pan of shrimp in a very yummy sauce, and a quart of rice.
A foil pan of shrimp and sauce, with what I believe is traditional Portuguese seasoning, gifted to us by our neighbors. They included a container of plain white rice to soak up that yummy sauce! I am not certain... but I think there is a lot of paprika in there, and turmeric, and maybe a bit of orange peel, and Sazon flavor packets? I shall reciprocate with some baking.

I hope our neighbor doesn't want to drive his car for the next month or so. He wasn't before... but it certainly ain't going anywhere now. We really did appreciate their help with clearing our driveway during this last storm. Let's play "Guess What Make!"... hahhaa.
Our neighbors' car, parked in our drive next to our hoop style "igloo" carport. In the foreground, at the bottom right, the ramps we use to get our snowblower up to the driveway level are over our stairs to the lower yard level. The car is parked in a narrow space bordered and supported by large concrete construction blocks. It's buried in a drift and covered by a good foot or more of snow, and only a bit of the roof, front fender and side are showing!

View from my sunporch window down toward the birdfeeder hanging from a pole at the side of our shed. Nope, not the fuzzy kind with a tail, the purple kind which hangs out around computers. ... a new morning, a lull in the snow, and amazing quietude! Supposed to snow lightly most of day, hopefully not much more accumulation. Will be spending a chunk of day re- re- re- cleaning, maybe clearing off cars and under bird feeder. No work for hubs today! I'd tie him up if he tried to go.
Snow Series - 01/26/26 Morning after the storm... time to go out and re- clean. Was windy all night, snow drifts have nearly buried the car on the mid-right hand side. There is a massive mound of snow from plows and shoveling around the telephone pole. A lopsided blanket of it on top of our van in the foreground. Our igloo carport thingie is coated, and should probably be cleared before it collapses from weight and age! A plow has been by, throwing up yet another ridge of crap to clear. Hopefully it's all still as light as it was so the cleanup isn't too strenuous.

Last of the pics I'll be able to get today, I think. City plows have now been by a couple of times, and true to form, here they are... throwing up a huge friggin' ridge of snow in front of our driveways, pretty much the entire right side of the road. Of course they did not fix that.
Snow Series 01/25/26 - City plow coming around the corner, shoving snow against a telephone pole, leaving a huge ridge of snow in front of three driveways and blocking that side of the street. There is a road coming from the north meeting one coming from the west, neither continues, it's a sharp corner and the plows don't care to take the time to clear it properly. There is a stop sign at the end of the street from the north, most don't bother paying attention to it. People come from the west and swoop right up the wrong side of the road, too. One of these days we're going to see a serious accident here. Dubious they'll come back and move that snow, they usually don't.

The beginning. As you see, we are IN a very weird corner. Town plows cannot make it, and seldom try to compensate. Snow will get shoved against that telephone pole near our "igloo". We let neighbor park in our drive to keep off the street to minimize the huge curve of plow vomit we have to remove.
View out our front window. We are IN a corner of two streets which do not continue on. In the foreground under the window is one of our driveways, with our van parked on the right side. Middle right side we have another driveway, with a round "hoop" style canvas "garage". It is starting to snow, with 18-20" expected. Plows cannot navigate the curve, and we and our neighbors to the left end up with a ridge of snow and the need to clear a good chunk of street to get out of our driveway. Town will push snow up around that telephone pole. To minimize plow vomit, we let our neighbor park next to our van in the drive, and we all work on the mess together. Sometimes we get lucky and the town tries to compensate a bit, but with all the snow expected... we're not thinking that's gonna happen. We will be trying to keep up with it today, but will probably spend most of tomorrow digging out.

In New England. Been watchin' the snow forecast all week... appearing, disappearing, then entrenching, amount due steadily creeping up. This morning we're at @19"+, up to 1-3" per hour, & winds of @15mph most of the night. We gonna be tryin' to keep up with this all day!! BRRRIIIING IT!
