The most beautiful part of the failure of expression to fully grasp existence is the yearning it creates within us to grasp it ourselves, paired with the independence this gives expression to be independently beautiful from reality. Though, such hierarchy feels reductive

Human expression cannot substitute human experience, but its a key part of it. We engage with ourselves, and we engage with others, and we engage with the world, and we learn and grow and learn and feel. We feel and learn and feel and grow. Grow and feel and grow and learn

The act of almost being there leads to this gap that winds painfully around the throat and intensifies the experience. Because you get it, you really do. You aren't fully abstracted - you're painfully real - , so you aren't in the work, but you could be, you almost ARE.

to reach for a specific feeling but not fully grasp it in a piece of artwork means that there is a sense of desperation to the most personally meaningful of artworks that I personally really enjoy. Straining against the bounds of reality to squeeze meaning out of the heart.

An instant in time cannot be described by an instant of reading, for any number of words takes time to read. This also means that to read a piece of work is a beautiful experience itself that cannot be replaced. There is something beautiful about the endeavor of creation

Words upon words can be used to describe an experience, and it would still not be the same as the experience itself. This is not just due to gaps in vocabulary or the possibilities spanned by the logistics of grammar, but also due to the nature of time.

Two people can read the same book or observe the same piece of artwork, understand what it was going for, and come away with entirely different understandings. This is not a failure on the part of the artwork, but a consequence of the complexity of the human experience

The inadequacy of language and art is so beautiful because it reflects just how vast the nature of meaning, emotions, identity, experience, etc. are. Every attempt to describe or capture a concept fails to be exact because such things fight containment and bleed and leak. #thread

When Alastor rejects Vox’s partnership offer/calls him pathetic, Vox tries to laugh along. When Alastor says Vox is weak/that he’s disappointed, Vox looks insecure. It’s not until Alastor calls it embarrassing Vox thought they were even friends that Vox gets mad (#radiosilence / static thoughts)

I think at the end of the day this is probably my issue with S/M long term? Like in a monogamous relationship. Even tho I like it in the short term as a situationship. I mean they could always just get together anyways but it’s just how I feel…

It’s hard to imagine Val as 100% monogamous and hard to imagine Vox as anything but monogamous and I think that would make for neat unresolved tension / ignored incompatibility. Yk? Idk maybe I just like drama
