Reports from Nashville describe alleged medication errors involving spinal anesthesia causing patient harm. SOAP, APSF, and ASA emphasize that these events require careful investigation and transparency - but they do not mean spinal or epidural anesthesia itself is unsafe. #OBAnes

🚨 Why does this patient have ketoacidosis? 🚨 A 65-year-old on Jardiance has normal glucose (98 mg/dL) but anion gap metabolic acidosis before surgery. …. This is euglycemic ketoacidosis! #SGLT2 inhibitors should be held 3–4 days pre-op to prevent this. www.apsf.org/article/edit...
