This is the single most important advice any creative person needs to hear. There are of course factors such as financial insecurity or mental and physical impediments (spoons ≠ motivation even though people will tell you they are the same) but when you can, do, whether you feel inspired or not.

A big misconception is that you need to be motivated to get rolling.
You don't.
Research: Motivation often FOLLOWS action, not the other way around.
In Practice: You don't need to feel good to get going; you need to get going to give yourself a chance at feeling good.

Stormcloak/town guard armor. Literally the first thing you see when you start a new game in #Skyrim. Maybe one of the most visible armors in games? Concepted by Ray Lederer (I think.) This was made to be a cheap armor that could hide the head, which was expensive. #portfolio #gameart #3dart #art

When texturing a "Stylized PBR" asset I like to do as much hand painting as possible. I try to keep procedural noise to a minimum. In this case I used procedural noise for roughness only. All other details are painted.
