I'd say there were 150 or so folks. I learned about it from a text from @sandiegodsa.bsky.social. This particular protest was organized by PSL, though there were a lot of other orgs in attendance. www.instagram.com/p/DTCm9P_FdoM

Jewish students support equal rights for all
By Mia
Jewish Voice for Peace is the largest anti-Zionist Jewish orga-nization in the U.S. that advocates for equal rights for all people in Israel/Palestine. We believe firmly in the Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world and creating a more just and equita-ble society for all people. To this end, we condemn the inequita-ble system of Israeli apartheid and have been a major part of the protest movement against the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. We condemn the killing of 18,000 children and 49,000 Palestinians because they are completely antithetical to Jewish values. In the spirit of Tikkun Olam, Jews have always been at the fore-front of protests against injustice during the civil rights movement, the free speech movement, the women's rights movement, the anti-Vietnam War movement, the anti-apartheid movement and many others. It is this tradi-tion that motivated us to join the protest at UC San Diego against the mass slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza and the complicity of the US. government in this crime. Jewish students joined the Gaza Solidarity Encampment on May 1,2024, to protest alongside our Palestinian brothers and sisters and we formed a diverse coalition of students from all faiths, ethnici-ties and nationalities. Our protest was directed at a state — the state of Israel — and its policies of genocide along with the conduct of our own govern-ment and even our universities that support the genocide. In no way was the encampment protest directed against the Jewish people or individuals. The fact that so many Jews were part of this protest entirely dispels the charge that this protest was in any way antisemitic. Our protest was completely peaceful and reflected Jewish values, such as Tikkun Olam and Shalom (peace or hello/ goodbye). On May 3, Jewish Voice for Peace hosted a Sabbath service on Library Walk that allowed for

You are being watched #LosAngeles #Surveillance
Electronic box attached to the outside of a building with four (maybe 5) cameras attached to it, constantly flashing red and blue lights, and a loudspeaker on top. The sign on the box says "Warning, this area is under 24hr live surveillance, you are being watched, suspicious activities & evidence is sent directly to the LAPD, Monere Security Solutions"
