I’m celebrating #Aphrodisia today since there’s no set date so…HAPPY APHRODISIA! Here’s some honey oatmeal bread I made (for both my family and #Aphrodite :D) #helpolsky #hellenicpolytheism #witchsky #pagansky #pagan

I planted Grecian anemone bulbs the first week this month, but they didn’t germinate and chipmunks ate some. But today I go outside and suddenly there’s TWO thriving anemone plants??? This feels like an #Aphrodite thing, given the myth of #Adonis. #helpol #witchsky #hellenismos #pagansky

A bit of non-Aphrodite content: I revamped Agathos Damion’s altar to fit some offerings and a candle! I’m broke so he gets some oats and candy 😭 #AgathosDaimon #hellenismos #helpolsky #helpol #witchsky #pagansky

A small blue shelf altar with a paper figurine of Agathos Daimon, an orange candle, a jar of oats, a wrapped chocolate, and some star crinoid fossils on it for good luck

I felt like now was a good time for some protection from vibes, so please give a warm welcome to Agathos Daimon, guardian of our house 🐍 (I was too broke for a statue) #AgathosDaimon #Agathodaemon #hellenismos #helpolsky #householdspirit #witchsky #pagansky

I just had an ~oddly fortuitous~ encounter with an woman in her 80s who told me to be confident and wear whatever makes me happy, who cares what anyone thinks. I can’t help but wonder if #Aphrodite had a hand in this 😭 #AphroditeDevotee

A new offering for #Aphrodite! Originally it had plastic jewelry in it, but I took it out and put in some of my own instead :)

The carvings include: (1) the Three Graces, her handmaids; (2) Selene (Moon) and Helios (Sun), the permanent temporal extent of her realm; (3) #Aphrodite in classical form on a sea-goat with tritons; and (4) three winged Erotes, her children and agents, engaged in sacrifice.

Although Emperor Zeno of Rome ordered the destruction of this statue (and the temple) by Christian iconoclasts, today it stands proudly in the Aphrodisias Museum in Turkey, which bears Her name. Isn’t it funny how that worked out 😌💕

“A graceful female figure serves as a "caryatid," or human support, for a mirror. The presence of the winged Eros figures (representing the god of love) above suggests that the maiden is a bride or perhaps #Aphrodite herself.” 460 BCE, Greece A little Aphrodite to brighten your day!

#Aphrodite Heyl, a terracotta sculpture from the 1st or 2nd century BCE. (Altes Museum, Berlin) She’s beautiful! :)

This statuette, the so-called Aphrotide Heyl, is one of the most beautiful ancient terracottas in existence. The close-fitting robe of the goddess of love has slipped from the shoulders; her raised left leg perhaps stood on a pillar. The front of the figure, which was shaped in a mold, was carved using a modeling scaper and finally painted. Probably from Myrina (Aeolis), Turkey. Clay. Acquired in 1930 CE; from the Heyl Collection in Darmstadt. 2nd century BCE. It is on display at the Altes Museum in Berlin, Germany.
