To be clear: I liked the ending. I don't think it was sudden or a swerve. I get why people would dislike the "twist", but IMO the twist was not the point of the ending, in the same way the murder was not the point of the plot.

As for the icons, they could at least put them in the descriptions, like this:
Zenless Zone Zero: Playing as Promeia, Velina, and Yuzuha. There is a small red icon below Promeia's HP bar, indicating the Tanuki Wish status.Zenless Zone Zero: Core Skill Description For Yuzuha, but edited to put the Tanuki Wish icon next to the words "Tanuki Wish effect".

personally, the agent descriptions are so long and stuffed with proper nouns that it's easier to just try playing the agent and intuiting how they work. it also doesn't help that a key part of certain skills aren't described under the skill itself, but under the core passive, e.g.
Zenless Zone Zero: Special Attack Description For Yuzuha

Note that it does not describe the Tanuki Wish effect, even though it is the main reason to use this skill.Zenless Zone Zero: Core Skill Description For Yuzuha

Reminds me of how in Thimbleweed Park, they let backers put their name in the in-game phonebook and record a message for players to listen to. Including a German guy named 'David Assmann'.

Of particular note is one 'David Assmann', whose name has a checkmark next to it (indicating the player has tried calling their number). Of course, his message is in German.

Still haven't seen whether there's a direct elevator from the REM to the Blue line at Édouard-Montpetit or not.
Two diagrams of Édouard-Montpetit station on top of Mont-Royal, Montreal. It is the station where the REM and the Montreal Metro Blue line intersect. The station is noteworthy, since the REM station is 72 metres below ground, making it the second deepest rail/metro/LRT station in North America.

Even though the two lines intersect here, there are two different station buildings for the REM and the Metro. However, there is a small shaft directly connecting the REM platforms with the Metro station. It is unclear whether this is an elevator shaft, or just a work/ventilation/emergency shaft.

fuck I hadn't even considered that she dies in the main route by blowing herself up. like, supposedly they didn't want to make any direct comparisons to any real-life wars, but... uh... this is pretty close to Japanese propaganda from WWII!
A section of the Wikipedia page for Yosano Akiko, a Japanese nationalist poet.

In her poem "Citizens of Japan, A Morning Song" published in June 1932, Yosano embraced Bushido as she praised a Japanese soldier for dying for the Emperor at the First Battle of Shanghai as she described how the soldier "scatters" his body when he is blown apart as a "human bomb". Yosano called the "scattered" body of the soldier "purer than a flower, giving life to a samurai's honor". Unlike the Kimi, Yosano called for Japanese women to "unify in loyalty" for the "cause of the Emperor's forces". The American scholar Steven Robson noted that unlike the Kimi, which like the rest of Yosano's early poetry was extremely innovative, Citizens of Japan is cliche-ridden as Yosano used well-known phrases like "a samurai's honor" taken straight from the ultra-nationalist press without developing a vocabulary of her own. Yosano ended her poem by praising Bushido, declaring that the "purest" act a Japanese man could perform was to die for the Emperor in battle and urged the Kwantung Army forward onward in the conquest of Manchuria "through suffering a hundredfold" to "smash the sissified dreams of compromise".

Though I guess Kyoshika's logo is more reminiscent of a plum blossom than a cherry blossom? Typically, cherry blossom emblems have notches at the end of the petals, but hers doesn't. Maybe it's to make the connection slightly less overt.

Hmm... #hundred_line (spoilers, discussion of death/war crimes)
A section from the Wikipedia page for "Cherry Blossom", on the symbols relationship with militarism in Japan.

During World War II, cherry blossoms were used as a symbol to motivate the Japanese people and stoke nationalism and militarism. The Japanese proverb hana wa sakuragi, hito wa bushi ("the best blossom is the cherry blossom, the best man is a warrior") was evoked in the Imperial Japanese Army as a motivation during the war. Even before the war, cherry blossoms were used in propaganda to inspire the "Japanese spirit", as in the "Song of Young Japan", exulting in "warriors" who were "ready like the myriad cherry blossoms to scatter". In 1894, Sasaki Nobutsuna composed a poem, Shina seibatsu no uta (The Song of the Conquest of the Chinese) to coincide with the First Sino-Japanese War. The poem compares falling cherry blossoms to the sacrifice of Japanese soldiers who fall in battles for their country and emperor. In 1932, Akiko Yosano's poetry urged Japanese soldiers to endure suffering in China and compared the dead soldiers to cherry blossoms. Arguments that the plans for the Battle of Leyte Gulf, involving all Japanese ships, would expose Japan to danger if they failed were countered with the plea that the Navy be permitted to "bloom as flowers of death". The last message of the forces on Peleliu was "Sakura, Sakura". Japanese pilots would paint sakura flowers on the sides of their planes before embarking on a suicide mission, or even take branches of the trees with them on their missions. A cherry blossom painted on the side of a bomber symbolized the intensity and ephemerality of life; in this way, falling cherry petals came to represent the sacrifice of youth in suicide missions to honor the emperor. The first kamikaze unit had a subunit called Yamazakura, or wild cherry blossom. The Japanese government encouraged the people to believe that the souls of downed warriors were reincarnated in the blossoms".Kyoshika Magadori in the Hundred Line:

"The way of the samurai is a path that leads to death. I will die honorably!"Kyoshika Magadori in the Hundred Line:

"My life will scatter like petals in the wind this eve. But I will not die in vain."

Part of the issue is that "Get away" can be used to tell someone to run away to protect themself, but it can also be said to an opponent in desperation. So either interpretation could work here. But in the Japanese version, she uses 「逃げる」 (nigeru), which doesn't have the second sense.
The same scene, but in the Japanese version.

Oh yeah, seeing points about occasional minor errors in Hundred Line's translation reminded me of this line. Without spoiling too much, Kyoshika's fighting off an aggressor when Takumi arrives. However, with the English translation, it's unclear whether she's talking to the aggressor or Takumi.
