Abandoning the Declaration Abroad

Finally! Here's the US Security Council letter justifying its war against Iran: As exptected, a mixture of an absurdly broad conceptualization of the right to self-defence and humanitarian intervention.
The United States has acted now to address the continuing threat posed by the Iranian regime, because peaceful measures have once again been attempted and exhausted. In the wake of the crippling United States strikes in June 2025, our President engaged in yet another intense effort to secure a diplomatic resolution that
would bring peace, prosperity and security for all States in the region, prevent the regime’s development of ballistic missile capabilities directly threatening United States Armed Forces in the region, protect Iran’s citizens and eliminate the threat from the regime’s nuclear program. Unfortunately, the regime refused to negotiate in good
faith.
The United States reserves the right in accordance with Article 51 and
customary international law to further act in our own self-defense and in the collective self-defense of our allies and partners, as may become necessary.
I ask that you circulate the text of the present letter as a document of the Security Council.

The dark side of neutrality (from the memoirs of Cordell Hull, former US Secretary of State and Nobel Peace prize laureate in 1945)
In February, 1944, the British and ourselves reopened negotiations
with the Swiss to obtain still further reductions in their exports to Ger¬
many. The Swiss Government, however, strongly resisted all our efforts
and engaged in delaying tactics.
With these negotiations still in course, I called in the Swiss Minister,
Charles Bruggmann, on July 14. After emphasizing the traditional and
inherently friendly relations between our peoples and Governments, I said
I had already discovered that some of the countries listed as neutral did
not seem clearly to appreciate the serious situation of countries like the
United States. We, I pointed out, were losing thousands of lives, we had
8,000,000 armed men fighting on all battle fronts, we were spending
$200,000,000,000, and we were supplying Great Britain and Russia to an
enormous extent.
“It’s not unnatural,” I said, “that Swiss businessmen should ask the
intercession of their Government with ours so as to retain as much trade
with the Axis as possible. I saw this happen to a great extent during the
First World War, and I’ve seen it happen in this war. The Swedes pleaded
with tears in their eyes for some time against what they regarded as
excessive requests of the Allied nations to limit ever more the Swedish
exports to Germany. Their main argument was the possible loss of coal
from Germany, whereupon we suddenly discovered that they had coal on
hand to keep them supplied for a year.
“When the United States is losing lives right and left and is spend¬
ing enormous sums of money because of neutral aid to the enemy primarily
in order to gratify some businessmen, the question becomes most serious
to this country.”
