Despite the 2024 ban on manufacture, sale, storage, & bursting of all firecrackers, large-scale violations were reported during Diwali. On Nov 4, 2025, the Supreme Court had slammed the Delhi govt & the Police Commissioner for failing to enforce the firecracker ban effectively.

Breaking: Delhi government said their government will request the Supreme Court to permit the use of green firecrackers on Diwali. The Delhi government further stated that they are “committed” to controlling pollution and “protecting the environment.”

After days of relentless rain, water levels are finally receding in parts of North Bengal. Apart from #Darjeeling, districts such as Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Cooch Behar - where life had come to a standstill - are now gradually returning to normalcy.

Bhutan issues flood alert to West Bengal. As Bhutan’s Tala Dam on Wangchhu River is overflowing, National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology in Thimphu advised West Bengal authorities to prepare for eventualities. Flood monitoring underway in coordination with Druk Green Power Corporation.
