People hate AI so much that DuckDuckGo has to specify that it’s “optional” in the title App Store listing. The weird dissonance of forcing AI down our throats while trying to navigate around our distaste for it.

DuckDuckGo’s App Store listing heading, with the duck icon and the title “DuckDuckGo, optional Duck.ai”

Big kudos on the proper use of #Gotham (or something close enough to it) on the #Obama Presidental Center. #typography

The top of the Obama presidential center. There is a large block of text shaped into one corner of it, the letters of which appear to be set in Gotham.

Apple is no stranger to Garamond, but what is this new Garamond-like typeface in Siri AI? It’s not New York, the serif counterpart to San Francisco. #typography @gruber

An iPhone with a Siri AI “information card” about Bosque de Chapultepec, with information pulled from Wikipedia and other sources. The body is in San Francisco, but the title is in a Garamond-like typeface.

Yes, #MinaTheHollower is beautiful. But this kind of thing drives me absolutely crazy.

A pixel chicken against a pixel brick background. But their “pixels” aren’t aligned to the same grid; you can see “slivers” of a few rows of pixels where the alignment isn’t exact.

This is a photo of the guy who made this game

Ugh ok so like — he’s seated in front of a desk with several monitors, plants, and vaguely cute knick-knacks on it. He has chin-length swept back blond hair, and he’s wearing (1) a denim shirt, with (2) black and white vertical striped pants, (3) yellow socks with (4) black loafers, and… thick-framed cow-print sunglasses, indoors. His legs are crossed ankle-on-knee, and he’s like, “‘Sup. Welcome to my world.”

CHATGPT IS NOT A PERSISTENT ENTITY. It is an ad-hoc autocomplete that is reborn every time it is invoked. Even articles ABOUT the shortcomings of LLMs fall into the trap of thinking of them as continuous intelligences. www.nature.com/articles/d41586-026-…

Since the fake papers came out, some
versions of major LLMs have become
sophisticated enough to express suspicion
about bixonimania. When asked about the
condition on 11 March, 2026, for example,
ChatGPT declared that the condition "is
probably a made-up, fringe, or
pseudoscientific label". But a few days later,
ChatGPT was less sceptical, saying:
"Bixonimania is a proposed new subtype of
periorbital melanosis (dark circles around the
eyes) thought to be associated with exposure
to blue light from digital screens."

If you try to make a “Genmoji” with only the input prompt of the “face with bags under eyes” emoji, it creates a yellow emoji face with literal bags for eyes.

A “Genmoji” session where the input is the tired-looking “face with bags under eyes” emoji. In the middle of the screen is the “Genmoji” that iOS generated from that, and it’s a smiling yellow circle with bags for eyes. The bags are like… money bags but they also kinda look like grocery bags or purses? It’s weird.

Masochists like me who develop in Safari: the web inspector panel can now arrange its frames vertically in macOS Tahoe. I don't think this was possible before. I've been waiting years for this!!

Safari with DuckDuckGo and the web inspector panel open on the right half of the window. The panel is split into two frames, one on top of the other; on top, the source HTML; on bottom, the styles.
