what artists get up to when theyre told they can make what they want 🔥 #art #puppet

a puffin puppet on the left biting the hand of a hairy orange puppet on the right. The right puppet has no eyes, only eyebrows, and is wearing a cardboard helmet with horns

anymachine @anymachine04.bsky.social · 02/11/2025

he got so drunk yesterday and I had to walk him home (I guess with my hand up his hole) #art #puppet

orange puppet head screaming drunkenly at the camera, blurry, out of focus, and with a bright light on him. He has an open mouth, a big red long nose, two slightly crossed eyes, gorgeous eyelashes, a wizard hat on - and finally a gorgeous frodo style cape with a forget me not pin. You cant see the cape unfortunately, it really is the redeeming quality of the puppet. he's a mess.

me n u but ur too scared to admit it #art #puppet

two puppets with souls, one orange with a red nose, wide set eyes, eyelashes, weird pointing out arms, and a red and black mouth- the other blue and mostly featureless, save for two close and high eyes, cross-eyed, his puppet mouth, and the same pointing out arms - but hes blue!

in my puppet era #puppet

a puppet made of corrugated cardboard - featuring a big mullet and mustache, large ears with one earing on his right ear, two buck teeth biting a loose tongue, and polystyrene eyes. His face is very long - and nose slightly wonky but protruding. He has a "kilt" that isn't really a kilt - it is just a checkered fabric coming out the bottom of his bearded neck. His name is Nigel.

anymachine @anymachine04.bsky.social · 06/12/2024

this term has been exhausting but at least my double pages are cool #art #birds #book @naturalistdara.bsky.social

Diary of a young naturalist double page spread as a uni brief - with the text "I take some photos of the bracket fungus and we head off, back to the castle grounds where we play at being (knights) and (kings) and (queens), because I'm still a kid and need to battle to get my energy out. The biggest battle is loving and protecting the natural world. For now, I pour out my battle cries and mock fight with Lorcan."
Double page has a leafless tree on the left over the text box. There is a jackdaw sat on the text box. The leaves of the tree have fallen into a pile on the right and there is a sword in it - as though it was the sword in the stone. The objects are red and the background is green.

Another double page - darker red and green - with lilypads as though looking at them from underneath, or underwater. The text reads "Watching Korcan and Blathnaid in the water, I suddenly feel emboldened: I want to join in. I undress quickly and (plunge) into the depths. The cold hits me like an icy
punch, I gasp, my skin tingles. I try and (play) with Blathnaid and Lorcan but it just isn't working."
There is a gap between the words "icy" and "punch" to create a falling shock effect.

Meet the Artist. A 3d model of me made in Womp - very round with a big head. 3 gappy teeth. ball hands. they are wearing no clothes but is censored with a black strike - with the words "don't read into their clothes". There is a drawing of my symmetrical arm tattoos. The page includes my letterbox favourites - tombstone, mongol, napoleon, whisper of the heart - my music taste - laufey, jazz, silk sonic, 90s rap, French and Spanish pop, hozier. The page also has my duolingo languages - Scottish gaelic, French, Spanish, Greek, Latin - it also has my games (splatoon, sims 4, d&d, pokemon), my favourite books (kyoshi, diary of a young naturalist, magnus chase), hobbies (baking, crocheting, gym, gaming), media (womp, procreate, clay, fibre). There are many doodles of things I own also - such as my laptop, my yarn and crochet hooks, etc. and my teddies - a sloth named sausages and a mini djungelskog.

just a silly little guy that looks vaguely familiar... #art

a self portrait in the software womp. stylised into just a very round head with features. light skin with brown hair. three gappy teeth. gold ear piercings, nose piercings either side, and a septum. eyes are slightly crossed looking upwards. expression is surprised, with a stylised blush and raised eyebrows

whats that bird doin... #art #birds 🪶 @naturalistdara.bsky.social

A Penguin Classic inspired cover for the book Diary of a Young Naturalist by Dara McAnulty. The cover has a pattern of blackbirds, dandelions, and irish eyebright. There is a blurb on the back. The colour of the cover is dark green and the pattern, text, etc. is a cream colour.

This is the spine of the cover design on a mock up. There are 3 of them next to each other as though they are in a bookshelf.

This is a front facing mock up of the cover design, laying flat.

birdtober is over! hello November 👋 Currently playing: sims 4 (life and death!) current project: The Diary of the Young Naturalist front cover & double pages

exhibition piece - a felt quilt of yellow, light blue, dark blue, and white - with a dark blue blackbird in the centre. White embroidery shows the feathers of the bird, and there are orange stars embroidered also. Patterns on the blue squares are done in procreate afterwards - white lines.

exhibition piece - Japanese inspired bird print of a "shag" bird, with the sun being cut by its beak. the bird is standing in water with binoculars balancing on a stack of rocks facing the bird. The text at the bottom says éan, Irish for bird.

birdtober mischief #art

three kingfishers drawn in oil pastels in a held up sketchbook: one in the top left looking down with zig zag texture on their chest; one in the mid-top right showing the back of their wings and looking backwards; and a larger one in the bottom half of the sketchbook with an open mouth holding a small grey fish. The background is yellow, and the blue and orange of the kingfishers are exaggerated.
