Happy 250 America! We're in the midst of trying times, but in the dark of the night the bomb flashes show the Republic is still there. We're not through it yet, and the worst may still be ahead. But I still have hope we can pull through. May the dawn's early light yet shine on my country tomorrow.

Unfortunately I won't be able to vote in the big Utah Democratic Primary on the 23rd, since I'm in a decidedly red district. But just a reminder to my neighbors who do get to vote: Ben McAdams is not a progressive, and he takes AIPAC money. He's not the progressive we need right now.

There was that "Lions not sheep" right wing slogan back in what, 2020? The idea being MAGA want to BE the predator, not the prey. The fundamental misunderstanding being they think they had a choice. We are all the sheep and they voted for the predator with the idea that makes them predators too.

Nothing will turn you into a "socialist" faster than when you realize America is the only industrialized country that doesn't provide healthcare for its citizens. Europeans also actually have worker rights. The USA is desperately trying to keep workers rights frozen in 1926. We're a century behind.

Last year the 4th of July didn't bring much joy. An air of sadness, of mourning for my country pervaded my attitude. So it hasn't passed me unnoticed the absolute travesty the 250th anniversary under Trump will be. No amount of patriotic music and backyard BBQ is going to make that feeling go away

You know what Donny? I agree with you here on one instance, for example, I wish you weren't a citizen of this country. Maybe you should have to pass a citizenship test to be president. How about the test naturalized citizens have to pass? I doubt 'ole Donny could do it. Revoke his citizenship first.
