Make him drink a generous shot of your hot sauce of choice. If he can handle it - what that precisely means is of course for you to decide! - then give him your blessing. If not, well…

If anything should change, Reuters Breakingviews’ sole representative Down Under would happily spring for a drink for you.

A shame! I couldn’t make it to Sydney this week for the EEC.

Increasing capital gains tax on assets is probably far more of a problem as it may well reduce renewables investment.

Hmm, much of this seems to be reducing programmes that may well not be needed at all or as much. The battery and solar cuts are to initiatives to make them domestically but were always long shots (& costs overall have come down); and hydrogen - there’s no one left to give the money to!

There was a longer one. Not sure if it was Simon’s. I recall saving it. I just held my nose and jumped back into my Twitter account and found nothing (and exited and ditched T/X again)

Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli.

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

I agree that few adult writers do. But over the years pre-chatgpt I’ve seen that and other phrases I’d never use deployed by adults who do not write regular prose for a living (ie, bankers, lawyers, etc). So while it may now be a potential sign someone has used gpt, it’s not a gotcha

I wouldn’t be surprised if that header - “Fossil fuel lobbyists really have…” - was stuck in there by a subeditor as a protest or a joke.

Pity the poor (ahem) bankers at Morgan Stanley's Australia offices who were among the millions Down Under hit by an hours-long phone outage: "Bankers who used their personal mobiles for business calls hoped to be reimbursed." www.afr.com/companies/fi...
