if you care about the city you live in and like having clean water, breathable air, soil that is not toxic… then show up. if even one tank breaks it will be total ecological devastation that will kill everything. one wildfire, one train derailment, one flood or one earthquake. that is all it takes.

i think calling despair arrogance is a very ignorant and callous thing to say that diminishes people’s lived experience of suffering without the support or care needed to pull out of it. if you think despair is ignorant then you have no idea what it’s like to live in misery. good for you i guess.

I am personally pursuing multiple complaints against Kaiser for these things and / or mistreatment or negligence relating to these issues and the Ombudsman person I'm working with said "probably a lot of other people have experienced what you have, but they didn't file a complaint cause it's hard"

we REALLY just need to find like a few ppl who can regularly come by, check out our stock the first couple times they do, to get a feel for what the need is and the usual frequency of things getting taken / when abouts they start to run out, and then commit to coming by when regularly needed.

I do not have the energy, time or memory ability to check the shelves every day or Even every other day. When i do, i am not able to remember 1. what to ask for 2. who to ask 3. what they're going by these days and how i can contact them 4. enough details to coordinate drop off.

We're just a few ppl spread between 2 households, we are all disabled and trans and only one of us is able to work full time. We cannot sustain this project on our own financially, and we've consistently struggled to find people who can commit to coming by with supplies on a regular basis.

The more of us there are coming around the shelves, the more anti-racist, anti-cop stickers, yard signs, artwork in our neighborhood, the more gleaned food shared, free supply shares, free-to-use garden boxes, free-to-pick fruit trees, the safer we all collectively become.

we CANNOT STORE large boxes or quantities of items and that's why we need community members to step up and support us. Our Community Shelves have been targeted by our landlord and our distribution efforts in our neighborhood have made us the target of NIMBY hate, and we need help.

I'm out of federal custody for the big crime of being near the ICE building. Couple broken bones and stitches. I received good medical care. I dont feel bad, I feel blessed. The women I was in custody with were from Mexico y Honduras. I got to go home and see my kids.
