Carbon markets exist to put a price on avoided emissions. Nuclear energy avoids them at scale: one 300 MW reactor can keep more than 100 million tons of CO2 out of the atmosphere over a 60-year life. Yet under the major crediting standards, that contribution is priced at zero.
