I work as a librarian and spend most of my time chasing stories. Whether they appear in comics, traditional novels, films, shows, video games, or anywhere else, I’m usually there for it. Oh, and also football, love me some football.

These are always fun! Funnily enough, the manga and anime ones were the hardest for opposite reasons. I’ve read too much manga and not watched a ton of anime. It’s a mix of defining things from childhood and things I have sunk an ungodly amount of hours into.

Here’s the thing Kyle, you didn’t. She cheated on you. I get Jade and Kyle are the iconic relationship, but I vastly preferred him and Donna.

God, Clark is exactly the kind of loser (affectionately) that would say “See you next year!” on New Year’s Eve.
Clark Kent says “See you next year” to Jimmy Olsen in the Daily Planet newsroom on New Year’s Eve.

Lex is at his best when he’s at his pettiest, and by god he is spectacularly petty here. I’m sorry? Clark didn’t save you fast enough as he dealt with YOUR failsafes to make sure no one but you could have control of Metropolis? Maaaaaaaan…

Morgan Edge Jr. literally worked with Darkseid in an attempt to take over the world. AND YET, his dad found ways to be a worse bag of shit.

How can you tell that you’re reading comics from the 90s? It’s subtle, but there are some indicators…

I’m doing a deep dive on Superman, reading from Crisis to today. I’m currently not that far into it, but it’s been fun! Clark’s goofier than I thought he’d be at this point.

This sequence. This sequence right here. Perfection. This is the Cyclops I want to see as the norm going forward! @alexpaknadel.bsky.social has written a master class on Scott Summers, and I just want more.

I’m sorry Jimmy, but if Superman’s gonna what now?
Jimmy Olsen is entering his car. His text bubble reads “If Superman’s gonna peg Bloodsport…”

I’m waffling on reading orders. I keep running into stretches that don’t interest me, and hot swap over to other heroes. Anyway, gonna hop into this one now.

Hey Rachelle Rosenberg? Wherever you are out in the world? Dunno if you mixed this color originally, but you deserve kudos to the moon and back. The use of this “Moon Knight White” has made @jedmackay.bsky.social’s MK run so visually stunning it cannot truly be put into words.

Finished reading the Superior Spider-man arc, and much like the first time around, I end it with mixed emotions. It’s a well-executed era that is meant to be deeply uncomfortable. And because it’s well done, it feels bad to read it. So I’m conflicted. It does give us this all-timer of a page though!

Dude, this latest issue of Moon Knight was a master class on page layout. The way Devmalya Parmanik used Marc’s cape was beyond inspired. And this page? Damn near perfect. And then the way Rachelle Rosenberg uses that MK White to pop off the page? Beyond amazing!

The start of my Legion read has been ROUGH. I just do not jive with the way things were written back then. Despite this, I did just finish the first legitimately good arc I’ve read with this team. The arc between Adventure Comics 346 to 347 was fantastic, and I hope to see more like it soon.

Oh! I forgot to update my Mosts! Unsurprisingly, considering he wrote like all of the Batfamily in the 90s, Chuck Dixon really shot up there. I’m just glad Tim made it into the top ten, though Bruce really rode those coattails to prominence. Had to read a lot of Batman crossovers…

Thus far, my readthroughs have been characters I am interested in, or ones I’m familiar with, but this time I’m gonna dive WAY off the deep end and read a group I really only know tangentially, from their brief appearance and many reboots. But hey, long live the Legion.

Finished reading Twelve Months, and damn I still love this series. Dresden will always be one of my favorite protagonists, and this book kept that going. I loved the use of time throughout, and the ending, just beautiful. Thank you Jim for giving this to us.

Today is a very good day
A picture of the cover of the latest Dresden Files novel, Twelve Months. Harry Dresden stands on the cover, his duster and hat on, a silver antler around his neck. A wizard’s staff is held in his right hand. Behind him is green crystalline objects, with a glowing arcane circle set behind his head.

He’s such a fuckin’ loser, I love it
In order to hide from reality television cameras, Robin takes the new identity of Mr. Sarcastic. He is bald, wearing green sunglasses with silver frames. His costume is a brown tank top with mesh sides, green pants, and dress shoes. He is wearing a grey cape with a fur lining on the top and a flame decal on the bottom. His arms are covered with tattoos, and he looks like a dork ass loser.

Ah yes, the worst member of the Bat Family and my eternal fave. Well, outside of those two I would say these four (secretly five) are characters I love unconditionally. Like, if they appear in a book I will give it a chance, usually longer than I should…
Tim Drake (Robin) and Stephanie Brown (Batgirl) stand back to back.Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern) flies in space, an earth-like planet in the background, extending his ring towards the viewerCyclops stands, menacingly, bathed in red lightLaura Kinney (Wolverine) stands, a cocksure grin on her face, claws extended
